  Where do I go to change my password

  i want to change my password for this site, but when i went to my profile page there was a place to change my e-mail address, bio, and gender, but nothing for my password.

  What you said reminded me of something that was told to me. I was at an assembly with a friend of mine. She told me if we knew how close we are to Armageddon, we would just die from a heart attack. Yes, I know it was an odd use for the word, heart attack, but she said it. Anyways, that was over 30 years ago.

  the wt for this upcoming sunday 10/07 is especially precious in its standard double speak.

  aren't we so grateful to the f&ds who directly mediates our relationship with jesus christ and give us the food we need at the proper time?

  i dunno....maybe i have anger issues with the the wt?.

  Doesn't the bible say somewhere that God would expose things done in secret? It's been a while since I last looked through it. Anyways, hopeful any current JW realize that maybe Jehovah is bringing out in the light all thing horrible things that have been done kept secret in that organization. Only the guilty will try to deflect their guilt on to someone or something else.

  What changes would stabilize JW membership?

  i've seen many topics about how things are changing or might be changing in jw doctrine/culture.

  some have extrapolated how those changes would result in declining jw membership.

  i'm curious to know what changes others think would stabilize those numbers.

  The problem of allowing their members to get a higher education would actually destroy the Watchtower faster than anything else. Simply because higher education encourages independent thinking, and thinking for one's self. My youngest is in his third year of college now, and I have seen a huge difference in the way he thinks about stuff. Fortunately, I left the JWs when he was 4 years old, so he was never forced to listen to the total nonsense that comes out of their mouths, and too young to even remember.

  A while back; my husband and my oldest went to my husband's JW aunt's funeral. She was killed in an unfortunate accident. I didn't go because I refuse to ever step foot on JW property, much less their buildings. But I did give my sons a choice, to go or not, the youngest didn't want any part of it; my eldest was curious.

  When they got back home my eldest son was extremely freaked out. I asked him what was bothering him. Normally he would shut me out, but not this time. He asked about the funeral talk that they had given. After I had finally cleared up all the confusion he told me what that talk sounded like to him. It sounded just like they were talking about zombies and the walking dead. He caught on to the part about how the dead will rise, and that really got to him. He knows that zombies are not real, but the way they went on about how the dead will rise really freaked him out big time.

  So any of you active Jehovahs' Witness who is reading this, you might want to think about how you word those talks. Because people like my son who don't know who you people are, all you do are doing is making yourselves look like a bunch of fools to the family members who have never been associated with the JWs.

  Scratch that, keep doing what you guys do best.

  The sad part about remaining childless because a religion tells them too is this. Once I knew of a JW couple decided not to have any children because of the time of the end. They were giving that talk way before 1987, or at least strongly encouraging it. Anyways this husband and wife both aged, and eventually passed away almost 25 years ago. They had no children to comfort them or care for them when they were old. The wife passed away first, from cancer, and the husband lived another 5 years before time caught up with him and he as well died, alone in his home.

  I would say stop the shunning would be number one. I know they say their reason for shunning is to "protect" their members, but it does more harm than good, strike that. It does no good. Someone once said a long time ago on this site, that studies have shown that shunning is the worst thing that can be done to a person's mental well-being. I don't remember what all they said, but that was a just of it.

  But then again those people, at least my relatives who are JWs, are the most TOXIC people on the face of the earth. So in a way shunning does do some good, it keeps those people the out of my life and stops them from playing their mind games on me and my children.

  To tell you the truth, I DO NOT want them to change, I want my JW relatives to see them for what they really are. And the only way that will ever happen is if that cult dies out in a very pitiful way, aka a whole lot more members leaving than coming in. Less money coming in, aka donations, and more money going out on lawsuits, and the truth of what they really are.

  WATCHTOWER Is Trying To Put Cameras In All of Their Kingdom Halls

  one of my best friends is in the security business.

  he told me the other day of how the watch tower has been in contact with his good friend and business associate.

  evidently they are inquiring about putting cameras into every kh so that they can do 24 hour monitoring.

  I can think of two reasons why cameras would be installed. The first would be security purposes, and the only time anything would be viewed would be if a crime happened. The second would be to record the speaker giving the talk, and other meeting-related stuff. Then they would have it connected up to the internet, so those that are unable to physically attend would be able to watch from another location. Then I would think that this could give them an opportunity to close down more kingdom halls.

  just a hypothetical question.

  if the society was right and armageddon came a knocking would you want to live in a society run by the org and bully elders.. would rather die at armageddon.

  I remember a few years back I had gotten into a very short argument with a JW about Armageddon and the New System of things. It went basically like this;

  The JW was saying that those who survive Armageddon will get to live forever in a beautiful paradise on earth. He kept going on and on about this, and finally, I spoke up and told him;

  "Thank you, but no thanks. But if you guys are correct, then it won't be a paradise on earth, simply because you would still have to follow the rules to a bunch of fools who don't know what in the H E double hockey sticks do they ever know what they are talking about. The survivors in the new system would be considered the slave class, and that means the survivors would be nothing but a bunch of slaves. That does not sound like anything fun or enjoyable to me, I'd rather be bird food." Also, I asked him to show me in the bible where it says that great crowd before the throne in Revelation actually say this takes place on earth? It doesn't.

  That was the end of that argument.
