  That is not nessarly night time, and I highly doubt it was. First if it was raining, that would make it dark, but most importantly there are no windows to let in any daylight.

  Warwick update!

  a bethel worker recently commented that the gb's wish is for warwick to be completed 3 years from this summer.

  the shortage of workers has moved the gb to even accept 50+ year old jw's as volunteers.

  they are trying to get it done before the big " a" i guess.

  That is nothing new, them saying we are living in the last days. Back in the 1980's they would always say, "We are living in the last minutes, of the last days." My friend who was of the anointed, would always tell me and everyone else, if we actually knew how close we are to the end, we would just pass out from fright. Yea she said those world. She was an older woman, so I don't know if she is still around (living) or not.

  my aunt sent me a message, and was letting me know that the joplin, missouri humane society is looking for people who can either adopt or foster a pet.

  so far the total of animals, mostly dogs and puppies, is 614, and they are desperately looking for people who can either foster or adopt a pet.

  i would adopt one, but i just adopted a dog a month ago, and he don't like other dogs at all.

  Your earliest doubt?

  this might be an unfair question for those who have been out of the organization for decades, but i'm wondering if any of you remember your earliest doubt -- maybe something odd that occurred to you as a kid (if you were a jw then).

  please try to limit to two doubts at the most :-).

  i think my first "doubt" was simply realizing that at the time of the flood, every animal that wasn't in the ark died (well, besides the fish, supposedly).

  My earliest doubt was when I was a teen, I only wished I had paid closer attention to it. Around 1984 to 1986, I attened the Durant, Okahoma congeration. I was treated like I had something that no one else wanted to catch. The witnesses who belonged to that congeration, treated me like an outsider. I was in high school at the time, and had no friends either in school or in the congeration. I was treated so bad that I actually tried, and nearly succeded in commiting sucide. My own mother had her own problems, with dealing with cancer as well at that time. I was not yet baptized.

  Then history repeated itself when I was just married to my husband. I moved to where he was living, and that congeration is Carthage, Missouri. Shorty after I was married, the C.O. and his wife (who was a total bitch) came for their visit. I had briefly met this woman at another congeration, but she did not know that I had just gotten married. Instead of saying what ever, she walked up to me and rudely asked me, "What are you doing here?" Then she went on to say, "You need to quit looking for a single brother and just go back to were you came from." It was at that time my husband heard what was going on, and it pissed him off, and he yelled at her and told her to back the HELL OFF, that is my wife you are speaking to. Yes he actually said those exact words.

  While I was attending that congeration I was again treated like an outsider, someone to be avoided.

  It was at that point those doubts started to make me think about those people and that religion. They say we are a brotherhood, and talk about love among the brothers.

  The final straw was when that same "love" was shown to my son, that was when I decided to research them.

  if you grow up speaking english and you move to mexico you don't automatically speak spanish, know customs, understand currency, possess skills.

  for self-support or have any special insight into latino mindset.. .

  why would you expect leaving jehovah's witnesses would leave you any less ill-equipped to navigate the real world?.

  What you said is very true. Even though I left the Watchtower, know that it is a evil cult. It is nothing more than a publishing company who has free labor to do it's bidding, and I hate it with every fiber of my being. I grew up in that cult, and I also had a very abusive father, he was never a JW, but the abuse started up when mother became a JW. I grew up nearly every day being told that the end was near, and looking forward to it. It was not because of all the people that would have been killed, but the thought of being reunited with my sister who was murdered.

  Even after leaving, there are still things that hang on, even though I don't want it to. I don't know if I will ever be really free of everthing that was drilled into my head, but it is something that I'm always working on.

  Is time running out for the Watchtower ? or has it already passed its used by date

  judging by the titles/themes of the talks , dramas ,new releases ,tracts,brochures , etc,.i dont think their was anything that would enthuse any witness to renewed activity.on the contrary i think it would demoralize you .their was nothing their to inspire a new convert let alone one who has been in for decades to keep on in service to this organization.

  for arguments sake ,i was baptised in 1961 if i was still in , at this convention ,i would be asking ,when is the great tribulatin to begin?

  I just had an idea. Why don't the governement remove their tax free status, and charge them for all the volunteer hours that people are putting in? They are already taxing the heck out of us anyhow.

  My screen name is another version of my birth name, and the number after it, is the year I became free from the Watchtower.

  My avatar called a Sim, from a game called The Sims 3. She is one whom I created from a photo of myself when I was in my early 20's, although my hair was never quite that light. With the back ground you can see that it is night, but the sun is coming up, it is to represent the light that is exposing the Watchtowers lies, and darkness.

  WT SHUNNING POLICY: What has it done, or could it do to you?

  hi y'all, this is mrs. flipper.

  please share your experiences with this, or possible consequences of being outed.. this recent controversy and resulting arguments all stem from people being outed - possibly losing friends and family because most jw's will blindly follow the watchtower's rules to shun them.. among people i know and experiences read here, the grief and loss caused by this is terrible, and maybe now is a good time to put up some experiences here, and put the focus on the worst villians of all - wt policymakers..

  The relatives that I have that are still in the JWs, are in short crazy nut jobs, and I'm pretty sure it was that cult that made them that way. After I got through the pain of loosing them, I am finding myself better off without them. To me, they no longer exist, in short they are already dead to me. Even if they ever left, I know that I would never welcome them into my home or even have any dealings with any of them. Even though they are JWs, they are liars, theives, and my own mother stood by and allowed my father (he was never a JW) to abuse me mentally, phyiscally, and sexually. My JW relatives are very toxic people, and I am happy to be rid of those wicked people.
