A Bethel worker recently commented that the GB's wish is for Warwick to be completed 3 years from this summer. The shortage of workers has moved the GB to even accept 50+ year old JW's as volunteers. They are trying to get it done before the big " A" I guess.

More likely they want to sell those Brooklyn properties ASAP to get their hands on all that ca$h!

It's gonna be a huge blow to the GB's collective ego if they end up having to put the project on "indefinate hold".

Personally, I hope they actually build it and move there.

Authoritarian high-control groups love compounds, and this'll simply reinforce that the WTS is one. It'll also encourage even more heavy-handedness towards the R&F, which will, in the long run, free more minds than anything the XJW community could ever do.

But at last year's DC the Bethel speaker said we are "living in the last day of the last days. The governing body really believes this".

Hm. I guess in WT World "last" and "days" have meanings different than the usual definition.

Funny how I can't go to college for four years because I'll never finish my education (The Big A is looming), but WT can start a four year building project with no thought of Armageddon stopping them.

Good luck finding JW`s over the age of 50..

Who want to volunteer for 3 years and don`t have a family or bills to pay..

The WBT$ Free labour pool is shrinking..

Unless the WBT$ starts paying people,Warwick may come to a grinding halt..

What's wrong with the facilities at Wallkill (Pinebush) and Patterson? Are they going to be used still or sold? Is Warwick a retirement place for GB and their older "friends"?

That is nothing new, them saying we are living in the last days. Back in the 1980's they would always say, "We are living in the last minutes, of the last days." My friend who was of the anointed, would always tell me and everyone else, if we actually knew how close we are to the end, we would just pass out from fright. Yea she said those world. She was an older woman, so I don't know if she is still around (living) or not.

Does anyone know if there is a change in "ownership" between the old properties that are being sold versus the new sites like Warwick. I would not be surprised if there is a (at least secondary) goal to clearly separate the Corporations that control the assets from the Corporations that are at risk of being sued in child abuse lawsuits etc. Any "new" Corporation would be free and clear of any liability. All the "old" Corporations that are at risk could be left penniless and thus not worth pursuing in any litigation.

Consider the Candace Conti lawsuit. The perpetrator had no money and was not even seriously pursued as a defendant. The local Congregation (if like most) has only very limited assets. Even the buildings are now all owned by some Corporation of the WTS and likely "rented" to the local Congregation, which might have a few thousand dollars in the bank. The only defendant with "deep pockets" was the WTS (and that was limited to just one of the WTS Corps -- don't recall if it was of NY or PA). Removed the "deep pockets" and no attorney would bother with litigation.

Remember most big decisions are about the money. Follow the money.
