this is a quick experience i have recently had and i have two questions at the end.. a couple of weeks ago, the dogs were barking at the gate on saturday morning and wouldn't you know it, it was some witnesses.

there was a father with his lovely wife and their young daughter.

the father did all the talking as mother and daughter just dutifully smiled and watched.

Why the Governing Body caught a frightful fright

it has been extensively reported on the forum that there has been a marked increase in effort over the past two years by the governing body of jehovah's witnesses to encourage an increase in monetary donations.

this has also been accompanied by the stripping of financial capital from the local congregations.

as has also been reported on this forum, this has in all probability been done to facilitate the financing of the vast new hq building project as well as the financing of the shift from a publishing company to becoming an internet based charismatic multimedia company which produces lame pixar/disney animation knock offs while simultaneously parading the governing body's ever expanding waistlines, blingy accoutrements and stupid grins.. meanwhile the financials of the organization remains as murky as ever.

every now and again when i'm on the forum among the many wonderful advertisements that gets thrown up on the page by google adsense, i sometimes get the following:.

1. now if i was still a jehovah's witness and i saw the website name: jwlies.com, the symbol of the christian dove and the bullet points 'jehovah's witnesses, you are being deceived', the '100% undeniable proof' and the 'no apostate materials', i would have to say that i would have to have been on the verge of writing my disassociation letter and then relieving myself on the podium during the watchtower study before i would even consider clicking on that link.. 2. now suppose that a devout jw had a temporary bout of periodic limb movement disorder and accidentally clicked on the add.

about a day ago startrekangel mentioned that an idea was put forward by a jw that sexual reproduction was an argument against evolution.

here's startrekangel's quote: "is this some kind of talk being spread around in congregations?

the funny thing is that a while ago someone tried to make the same argument, saying they could disprove evolution because no one can explain how we evolved male and female at the same time.

ok i'll start.. one of the best and most credible cases of a ufo sighting is the 1976 tehran ufo incident.. at approximately 0030 hours local time (2100z), 19 september 1976, the imperial iranian air force command post at tehran received four reports by telephone, from civilians in the shemiran city district, of unusual activity in the night sky.

the callers reported seeing an object similar to a star, but much brighter...at 0140 hours, a ...f-4 was scrambled, piloted by lieutenant parviz jafari and lieutenant jalal damirian.

jafari would eventually retire as a general and participate on 12 november 2007, at a national press club conference demanding a worldwide investigation into ufo phenomena...while the object and the f-4 continued on a southerly path, a smaller second object detached itself from the first and advanced on the f-4 at high speed.

the reaction to it was quite negative but i have to admit that the title of that thread was intriguing to me.

in the photodrama of creation there's a picture of the solar system.. there are 12 solar orbiting objects.

(also a 13th orbit which seems to be a comet, probably halley).

does anyone know where russell got this from?.
