balaamsass: right! were there not at one time 2 branch offices in France? now thats what I call branching.! seriously though, The French had their revolution, and the clergy were among the targets not just the political rulers. The french have done their best to stay secular and are now battling the muslim threat too, not just what they consider freeloading cults. so "charities" have to react. while we are on moneys: we had the CO talk and its all about sacrifice,-- monetary sacrifice, beyond what would be required. like volontary offerings beyond those stipulated under the mosaic law. Sacrefices are sacred. sacre is cursing in french. the english curse in reproduction, the french in religious terms. may they have a point. when it hits the purse it becomes a curse.

Johann Keppler,--- who lived in central Europe at the time of the reformation. The Lutheren church disfellowshipped him for his habit of researching and exposing wrong teachings in sermons. nevertheless,
Keppler, a Mathematician was the first to define his three laws of planetary motion, still used today to calculate the orbit velocity, distances of planets from their sun(s). He was right in exposing religious error, facing the consequences and successful in advancing mankinds search for understanding reality.
it does not get much better than that.

Does the Watchtower still make a big thing about the cry of "Peace & Security"?

i was wondering with the arab spring and increased unrest in the middle east, whether the brothers are speculating about this again?.

What being cheap costs us.. Fatal accident involving bus full of JWs
by pubtruth inthis happened about last week here in florida.
a bus carrying 32 jehovah's witnesses driven by a hired bus driver got lost on the way to west palm beach and crashed at the entrance of miami int'l airport.
dozens were injured and 2 passed away.

but gossip is also a tool to use power. Knowledge is power, and who has more illgotten knowledge than the scd"Elders" and their meddling spouses? so: gossipers show their power and maintain it among their friends. (to the exclusion of the "outsiders"). gossip is an all-around tool in the right hands er mouths.
