my jw mother died july 5th.
it was quite honestly not that emotional for me.
Hi ,Noni ,my condolences to you .I don`t recall I had that much emotion when my mother died but I feel I did when my father died .
They were never involved in the cult of JW`s, I was .
They were good loving parents and my mother doted on me ,I feel like I was the bastard son that didn`t respect that .and have felt guilt ever since.
July 5 is my birthdate.
the bible predicts that at some point, the god of the bible will take action.
this is very convincing when reading bible prophecy and history to back up prophecy as represented in the bible.

I remember when King George the V1 died I was 13 YO it was night time in Australia and I asked my dad "the king has died what`s gonna happen now ? He replied ",nothing will change don`t worry someone else will replace him life will go on the same as always."

A lot of great well intentioned knowledgeable people about the JW religion who can offer wise counsel that probably excludes me.
However you do mention the Brisbane area and I spent 37 years in Brisbane ,a lot of the time as an active JW.
So maybe we do have something in common.

the thing that broke me was that i tried to warn another mum in the congregation about a brother who was inappropriate with my son, which upset me, and so i called her to talk about it since we both knew him and i had also seen him pin her daughter down on the sofa and slap the girl's bottom.
i called it inappropriate, but i never accused him of anything beyond that.. unfortunately, word got back to him and i had to go in front of 3 elders, including the brother who i felt had been inappropriate.
because they came down on me for trying to stop the behavior, and not on him for being the cause of upset, i felt very hurt and started questioning more things.

I was never contacted after I DA`d myself from the Cong.I was in and I was well known in at least 3 Cong`s in my area.

These victims are said to be ex JW`s ( and why wouldn`t they be ? ) in other words apostates ,so they are not to be believed by the R&F .
Whereas a JW in good standing wouldn`t lie would he ,so goes the mindset of a Jehovah`s Witness.
It says a lot when the police don`t get co-operation from the JW`s while investigating this case and accuse the church of not being co-operative .

Newbies should be aware that the Borg as we sometimes call it does monitor sites like this for their own advantage ,that`s how paranoid they are.
hi folks.. i put this in abuse as i thought it relevant.. a physically in mentally out friend that considers our friendship greater than religion told me that on the latest broadcast steven lett alluded to satans voice being behind people that claim the organisation protects pedophiles.. my friend then went on to say they must be in damage control.. he added, but that is correct, they are hiding their internal records.
is not that construed as protecting the accused?.
if i get the inclination i may post a snippet of what was actually said.. sadly my friend is trying to protect his family relationships and so goes along with the charade.. his situation weighs on me but, as many of you here know, it can be a difficult road to travel.. jtg.
I don`t know how anyone in the JW religion can take Stephen Lett seriously ? Like everything the organization does, is they twist things around to confuse the issue.
On the one hand, while they don`t actively outright protect pedophiles ,they deny they exist and refuse to do anything about the sexual abuse against children that goes on in the organization by the perpetrators ,they, in fact by their denial are protecting pedophiles .

when i was a teenager a younger fellow workmate was involved in the sport of judo.i got interested and went along to a number of sessions and took to it like a sponge to water ,and as a sport i was happy participating in.. not that much longer another workmate was getting re-activated in the religion of jw`s.
which i had never heard o before and then got interested in that .. conflict : was judo a sport that was compatible with j.w beliefs?
sadly i decided it was not and stopped any further involvement.. to this day i resent that decision i made back then .and i`m 82 years old now.. it was a sport i was comfortable doing and i enjoyed it.and i gave it up because of the religion .who knows what i may have achieved had i continued with it.
I only have heard of a couple that you mention Punk .
I`m more familiar with Count Bassie ,Duke Ellington , Gene Krupa ,Glenn Miller ,Tommy Dorsey ,etc ,etc.
Maybe it`s an age thing ?
