i have learn a lot about the religion and congregations.
when i was active visiting meetings, i was there for the spiritual food.
i actually thought everyone else was there for same reason ;-) i have learn there's a great variation among jws.
I learnt that I wasn't the only JW that knew that WT have rewritten their own history to make themselves look good, to help cover failed teachings while at the same time promoting their updated version of their history.
"New light" is how they justify their failed prophecy`s , "Evident Realities" that never get realized , False dates for Armageddon , 1914-18 ,1975 ,2000 , however the re-writing of their own history to show them in a good light was the straw that broke the camels back.
i think the first thing to consider is that it takes a while for humans to wake up to the truth.
this is not just a jw thing.
around 1600 ad, galileo challenged the catholic church's long held view that the earth was the center of our universe.
According to the graph slim has shown, for the past 40 years the Jehovah`s Witnesses have grown in number despite the internet and the growing number of sites like this one .
How is this possible ? With all of the flip-flops ,evident realities not realized ,false predictions ,dates , about The big "A" happening around 1975 ,then before the end of the 20th Century ,not to mention those previous predictions early in the 20th Century. ?
Where is this growth coming from ?

i am sick of sappy xmas music and tv shows.. i always reflect on what religion has done to my family.
Just my 2 cents worth.:
The religion has done a great job in indoctrinating you to dwell on the negatives in life.
What you need to do is hone in on the positives in life ,whatever they may be.
Do you have friends associates that are not JW`s , if not why not ? They can be good caring people.
Do you have fellowship with people in a club or association with people in some interest group ,hobby ,gardening , or some other activity you are interested in ?
Their is really no excuse or little excuse to be alone or feel alone ,maybe YOU just have to take the initiative.

This Covid 19 and its variants , business is going to with us for many years to come .i`m with those that believe they will sell off KH`s left right and centre to generate more quick money .
And I do see them going to be a Tele- Evangelist religion and keeping big Assembly Halls in certain strategic locations around the country`s they operate in,because they are big money makers.
With the video studio ? ,that can also be a big money spinner with the right marketing.
As people are saying they will not ever go back to what the religion was before .
has anyone ever read the new testament- critically- and not theologically?
by theologically i mean not reading the bible with the intention of understanding the nature of god and religious truth.
but instead, reading the bible by analyzing only the facts of what is written, in an unbiased frame of mind to pull out what is actually happening in the written stories.. first of all, if you were to read the nt in chronological order, paul’s 7 authentic letters would come before the gospels of matthew, mark, luke, and john.

OK Kosonen, my take on your analysis of world events and the Bible. True china is emerging as a wannabe super power in world affairs, widening and strengthening their influence and military capabilities in the region and beyond.
That, that happens with Nations is nothing new as history confirms .Over periods of time Nations rise and Nations fall .Nothing new under the sun here..
Your big mistake here is trying to harmonize what happens in modern history to whatever the Bible has to say..
The Bible is nothing more than what the Roman Church brought together, a lot of scriptures ,of Jewish and first Century Christians and came up with their view of what should be the Bible canon, and form their Religious organization on.
Leaving out many other Scriptures that didn`t fit in with their agenda.
And Protestant religions have virtually all fallen in line with what they decreed including the Jehovah`s Witnesses.
resulting in forming over 40,000 different Christian sects throughout the world today.

I believe Winston read too much into it as well .Same here , he has probably confused his beliefs and mixed them up as a hish hash of JW beleifs .
Because let`s face it it is hard to keep up with the flip flops of JW`s beliefs and their New light .
The only thing that the current JW knows about his / her religion is that Armageddon is coming and a new World of paradise is coming soon ,so don`t bog me down with details ,its all in Jehovah`s hand.

i listened to geoffrey jackson’s latest talk “assisting our brothers materially “.
jackson presented some arguments, one of which was….jesus did not stop the widow from putting money in the contribution box in the temple.
basically saying regardless of your financial situation you have to donate.
What is it about GOD that he always needs money from his worshipers ??? Even in Bible times he was always out for precious gems ,gold and silver ?
Does he ever actually ever get it ?
