.It might be interesting to compare how the chinese Govt.handles protesters ,Hong Kong,Tiananmen square and how the USA handles protesters.
Of course the situations are much different in both places but I doubt very much that Beijing would tolerate the protesters trashing and looting any place at all.
As for a civil war I very much doubt it .
today, it will be 90 degrees and humid!
this morning i’ll be playing tennis again.
while most people have been holed up in their houses, i have regularly played the sport outside.
Very few if any wear a mask where I live and this whole shire has no victims, zero of covid-19.

I don`t understand why coloured people trash and loot there own city they live in ? As a protest ?
since adam and eve’s fall, we are all sinners.
it’s what we do, there is no way to change it, sinning is a daily part of life.
there are major sins, but most of us commit minor ones everyday in words, thoughts or deeds.
If God was so pissed off with the disobedience of Adam and Eve ,he could have {instead of creating a hell on earth for every living person after them},just either killed them off and created another "perfect" couple and saved the human race thousands of years of death ,disease and misery that he is responsible for.
And of course he would have had to put down Satan also ,but no ,apparently Satan was a buddy of his because he never shuns him and lets him come and go before his heavenly throne whenever Satan wants to.
And only thousands of years later does he decide to cast him out of heaven and instead of casting him off to Your Anus ,sorry Uranus ,where he could do no damage ,no he has to send him down to earth to cause more problems to the human race ,as if he hasn`t done enough already.
there seem to many seemingly political topics started in this section.
it's usually something controversial and not related to this subject area.
it would be nice to have this area reserved for it's appropriate subject.
I think the OP has a valid point ? maybe some of us just need to be a bit more aware of what section we are posting under .
Point taken wisdom ,and i think simon would agree with that also ,thats why there are different catergories to post on.

last wednesday my elder brother called me to let me know mom had died.
she was 97 years old and was in a nursing home for the last 7 years.
her mind had left her many years ago to the point she didn't recognize any of us.
I`m sorry for your loss and offer my condolences to you S.T.A .I hope now that the ice has been broken between your brother and you ,that he has mellowed enough to have a more normal relationship with you and that you can be brothers supporting each other as you both are getting on in years.

Thanks jwleaks ,what an amazing photo ,it gives new meaning to Australia being a Sunburnt country .Apart from the loss of life and property that humans have gone through the amount of wildlife that have been killed and traumatised is horrendous .

just before the pandemic affected my area, a couple of jws came to my door.
this was the first time i didn't tell them to hit the road but instead had a pleasant conversation with them.
i never revealed that i am a former jw, nor do i ever want the jws in my area to know that i was ever one.
Last time I wrote, I mentioned that we see the signs of change on the horizon. I'm sure you're familiar with the Lord's Prayer, where Jesus said to pray for God's Kingdom to come.
If I may presume the last time she talked ,she quoted "in the last days critical times hard to deal with will be here..." etc,etc,etc.
The last time a couple of JW`s came to my door i asked them what period of time would they like to go back and live in ? This period of time is the absolute best that mankind has ever lived in.The advancements in science and technology to make our life so much more pleasant and comfortable ,air travel all over the world <the advancements in medicines and hospital procedures keeping people alive much longer with the quality of life never before experienced ?

Needless to say that was a conversation stopper ,but I went on .The "Our Father" prayer that Jesus told his followers to pray for is 2000 years old and is going to come when when we die and go to heaven.I have my religion you have yours ,good day to you.
Notice i used "Our Father " prayer which denotes you may be a catholic without you ever saying that.
And if by any chance they try to tell you they know Gods name is Jehovah ,you can always say the catholic Douay version of the bible has the name Jehovah in it printed centuries ago ,and the modern Knox Catholic version of the bible uses Yahweh throughout the Old Testament .
And if you want to put the final nail in the coffin of JW arguments : Ancient Catholic Churches throughout the world have the name Jehovah engraved in stone on many of their churches .
