No Meetings, preaching work and circuits for JW's in Holland because of SARS-COVID-19 / Corona + Memorial only for JW's

today all jw's in holland are informed that all meetings, the preaching work and the circuits are halted / closed because of sars-covid-19 / "corona".

first till march, 30 and then maybe longer.. the first time that the jw work in holland completely stopped.

the memorial will be held only for jw's.

Maybe they should just do the Memorial on line instead of having it at KH`s where everybody could log in and observe it ,wouldn`t that be the most sensible thing for the GB to organise ?

Under the circumstances ?

Otherwise ,having all of their members congregating at KH`s all over the world could be just passing a death sentence on all of the elderly that will attend this meeting .

They are for the most part only observers so why can`t they just do it on line where everybody can log in and observe the celebration of the Memorial ?

JW old books and mags selling hot on ebay

so i have an eye out for a couple of the more nefarious jw books from the past.

i look on ebay etsy and others.

i see that the older books are selling for a good price.

A few years ago now ,I was managing as a volunteer a Senior citizens OP shop where I live and somebody donated what must have been about a dozen WT / Society videos .

Apparently from some old person who had passed away and their family thought to give them to the OP shop.

.There was no way I was going to put them on the shelves in the shop so a co-worker who was no fan of the JW`s had them dumped in the trash.

And I had no problem with that decision.

In my neck of the woods in E.G. Victoria,Australia I would imagine that "the end is nigh" is at the utmost of the minds of JW`s.

Just in this past 6 months we have had devastating bushfires ,floods in some parts ,a hailstone storm that wrecked my back deck where my roof looks like its covered in swiss cheese and now with COVID-19 and the 3 Supermarkets here with depleted stocks of toilet paper ,paper towels,and tissues ,along with hand cleansers ,I`m pretty sure its not only the JW`s that are thinking "the end is nigh" ?

I am now lamenting the time I dumped all of our WT literature, we sure could use all of those pages for toilet paper.

1. whether you believe in the bible or not are you free to read /allowed to read the bible,the word of god?.

2. whether you want to or not, are you free to read/ allowed to read the shepherds book, the word of men?.

How does the downplaying of women in the Christian setting gel with how women were used by God in the Old Testament ?

Deborah was a Prophetess and also a Judge over Israel "and the sons of Israel would go up to her for judgement"

as one example .

You don`t hear much about her and how Jehovah put her in such a responsible position from the WT/JW `s do you.

I know they love using this word special when there is nothing special about it in the first place ...but ?

Do you think there will be panic buying of food, guns ect?

i wonder if there will be panic buying of food, guns, gas ect due to the corona virus.

I called into the supermarket today to get some goody`s, mainly for the wife ,truly ,anyhow after picking up a few goodies I ventured down to the aisle where the tissues ,hand towels ,and toilet paper used to be ,and lo and behold there was not one item left in the whole aisle.

I live in regional Victoria Australia a fishing coastal town with a population of about 6000- 8000 people at the most,however this weekend is a long holiday weekend where it can grow up to 50,000 plus.

And we are a good 4-5 hours away from a major city Melbourne .And their is panic buying here ?

And isn`t that what Philippians says in Capt.2 : 8-11 ? and all of the scriptures in the New Testament ?

Not one scripture in the N.T. charges Christians to be witnesses of Jehovah.not one.

However their are over twenty scriptures that state that Christians are to be witnesses of Jesus Christ.

do you think any higher ups know that much of the doctrine they teach is bunk?

thinking back to the time of raymond franz, how he pointed out specifically numerous teachings that the churches really did have right all along, and really any of the hidden mic apostacy trials you listen to on youtube, you see that even when inconvenient bible teachings are proven, the elders just try to sweep it under the rug and move on.

i think i remember franz saying how one of the gb approached him somewhat sympathetically, but there was nothing he could do.. whether you believe in the bible or not, there are some basic beliefs common among most denominations because they're just so plainly stated, such things as heavenly life for all christians, no central authority structure, minimal use of god's name, etc.

Of course they do ,but they have painted themselves into a corner by their having believed and promoted this religion for so many years ,and that they are now beholden to it for their financial livelihoods and to come out against it now would leave them and their wives destitute.

They simply have too much to lose personally.
