i am sure we were all shocked at the governing body update #2 with the unusual and impulsive changes set forth.. i am an insider at whq, and when i was on reddit and in communication with avoidjw i explained to the best of my ability that the approach on disfellowshipping was going to change based on the new light at the 2023 agm, that the jubilee rumor was false, and there were going to be changes on how jws approached disfellowshipping in response to the norway situation if it didn't turn out in watchtower's favor.
the decision came because of a legal blow to watchtower, not because "holy spirit" wad directing a faithful slave, who is going to become the "evil slave", more explanation on this soon.. everything i stated came true.
i left reddit exjw community due to the immature and mentally unstable nature there, and yet as has been the case my words came true.
I have received a pleasant reply from redsetter.
I told him a bit about my own background that involved Ray Franz and also John Barr, that I have not so far discussed here, and asked him a question or two that I would like further info from him on.
I await his reply in his own time and at his own pace.

uh oh, looks like the mega thread gave up the ghost, so while i investigate / fix it just continue the discussion here .... it's been a long 9 years lloyd evans / john cedars.
I think in the past he must have been raking in an amazing amount of money.
When he received superchats etc and payments in his livestream he seemed to be getting paid a small fortune while his 'helpers' got nothing.
Perhaps he thought in the future he would be able to retire and live a non jw life of ease on the strength of these and other donations..
in a span of a few months time, we have had many unexpected changes announced by the jw organization.
some here have expressed the belief that a great number of witnesses will leave the religion.
in fact, there is a great probability the opposite will be true.. yeah, ancient hardliners will have a hard time assimilating these changes, but the younger generation will likely welcome these changes.

My aged family are desperately trying to find ways to convince themselves to be faithful and loyal to these new dress codes but are seriously struggling.

) back in 1972, a new book was released at the summer district convention, that replaced the yellow-colored "lamp": book.
If I was disfellowshipped and the elders wanted to visit me:
I would insist that they were all clean shaven and wearing smart suit, shirt and tie, as MY STANDARDS of respectable dress and grooming (Like jehovah's) have never changed..
the latest study edition mentions hypothetical scenarios of jws who are no longer serving at bethel or no longer elders, etc.
and says we shouldn't speculate, as defaming them could border on slander.. we could unintentionally defame someone by spreading negative information.
..... would it be proper to speculate on the reasons why these adjustments were made and to share that opinion with others?.
You'd probably have to explain WHO Tony Morris is to most publishers - then tell them not to talk about him if the average publisher is like most of my jw family!

They just feel they can do no wrong, and even if they might admit among themselves that they erred, they would NEVER do so to the R&F.
The GB are so interested in their own image and retaining their own authority and perceived holiness that they refuse to openly admit their own humanity in any kind of specific way.

I always feel that it it it wasn't for legal accountability the wt would be just as hardline or maybe even more than those past examples in their treatment of DF ones.

there are no serious consequences for doubting the gb.
there are no consequences for going against the direction.
we can now celebrate anything.. what will happen if you take blood, celebrate xmas and birthdays ect?.
