We used to have our meeting on a friday too. That felt so cruel man! And we had to leave our house just as simpsons was starting too!

But the sister whos house it was used to make us all a hot chocolate half way thru, so it wasnt all bad.

I feel I repress alot of memorys from JDub times, and this forum often brings them back to light.

Heres one thats just popped up, i was given the "privilege" of turning up early to remove the locks from the firedoors and then sat waiting to do the sound board.

Looking back i was so proud and it makes me SICK. How did I let myself become so brain washed? Was we mentally weak to get in that state? Or was we mentally strong to break away?

My parents where relaxed on this front. I was allowed to listen to any rock music.

I see someone mention smashing pumpkins. They have a song that literally starts " Disarm you with a smile" how can you link that to satan!

Actually i just had a memory pop back to my mind (this site does that alot to me) i remember sitting to learn " the devil went down to georgia" on the fiddle as a young publisher!

Did you actually read the bible end to end?

in my ten years as a witness i never read the whole bible end to end, what with four magazines a month, the book study, meetings and talk preparations, there just wasn’t the time.

i knew all the important references to ‘prove’ the various jw doctrines, and the cherry picked chapters that help foster the idea that it’s a good book, but that’s not reading it.

well after nearly forty years out, i decided i would do it.

I read it cover to cover during my pioneer days.

Its safe to say none of it has stuck in my head and i wish I spent the time studying literally anything else.

satan controls 99.9 % of the world except for one little obscure religious group that no one pays any attention to.

when i first seen this website i actually thought it was a jw website hence the home page and not an ex jw website and i posted a topic thinking people were real witnesses then i quickly discovered it was not and all these people were commenting and embarrassing me and i couldn’t even delete the thread.

then i asked the admin to delete it and i said it was very misleading saying it’s a jw page and he’s like are you serious i deleted your topic and now you are attacking me and it clearly says ex jw page.

he was very rude and btw no where does it say ex jw and you should be able to delete your own threads you start.

I dont contribute much either as I am so far away from the borg. I come here for updates on Jdub lunacy and where i can offer support, share stories etc.

This is also the only place on the world where I am around people who understand how it was for me growing up!
