we often went over a bridge that had a train trestle next to it.
all you could see of that trestle, was the top that had about 8 humps that spanned the river.
There was a water tower near me i was only young. Maybe 5 or 6 and my parents where discussing the water tower and how a rat was found in it.
Being young i only heard the key words so i assumed it wasnt a water tower it was infact the tower where all the rats lived. As far as i was concerned it was where all rats come from in the entire world.
Funny how something so simple can become so complicated and odd once things gets taken out of context ;)
i think my last post i said i went to a new congregation,i'm going to just talk about some of the shit i have seen in my congregation.. there was a kid trying to talk to a adult next to him i think it was his dad,the kid just started taping him because he wanted to tell him something and the dad gets mad then boom the kid gets elbowed.i look around to see if anyone saw him do that to his kid and nope or they didn't want to say anything about it and just like wtf.. in my old congregation,the younger kids would do random stuff in the middle of the meeting to not get board.
when the mom or dad got mad i would see then get dragged to the back of the kingdom hall and hear them start crying.when i was still mentally in i just didnt think about it at all when it would happen but when i woke up im just like thats fucked up..

today, july 1, i wrote what has become my annual contact with my parents.
it is their 51st wedding anniversary.
i e-mail them from across the world where i now live to let them know that i haven't forgotten them, i still love them, and that i'm doing okay.
Sorry to hear for the loss of contact. That must be truely heart breaking.

i've been thinking about the changes we make within ourselves after leaving the wts cult.
i'm not referring to how we spend our time now that we actually have some, but who we have become, or working to be?.

Shortly after being disfellowshiped and subsequently homeless at a young age i was saved by everything i was taught to hate.
A man in his 20s, smoked,drank, smoked weed,swore, road a harley... took me in. He showed me kindness i never thought possible. Especially from such a worldly man ;)
It taught me i can be who ever i wish and still be kind.
i have recently been disfellowshipped (after being reinstated in march).
i saw a group of jws gathered in the town car park yesterday.
they seemed startled when they recognised my car and talked amongst themselves giving one another a satisfied grin!
If its just to prove a point then here is what i would do.
Walk in to the hall 15/20 mins early, happy smiling, greeting your brothers and sister as you walk to find your seat, dead front and center.
If asked by an elder to meet them in the second school ( is that still a thing) kindly decline as your happy where you are. leave at the end, as normal happy and fufilled with spiritual nourishment.
Show them that thier authority dosent exist.That the disfellowshiping actually means fuck all.

if a jw wanted to get a concealed carry permit, would the society have any moral or ethical problems with it?
in other words, if one of your elders noticed you were carrying concealed, would they be apt to just ignore it or would they counsel you on it?

you make VERY valid points. if you MUST attend a kingdom hall your probably a target anyway. and anyway.
Assumuing your half decent at concealment and keep things to yourself no one should even notice!
