Today's Text - Justifying The Increase Of Annointed Ones!
by Divergent inthursday, august 31. jehovah knows those who belong to him.—2 tim.
2:19.. in recent years, we have seen an increase in the number of those partaking at the memorial of christ’s death.
that trend contrasts with the decrease in the number of partakers that we saw for many decades.

7,982,000 are just being bullied into not partaking.
partaking would be a minimum requirement for any baptised "christian" to be on his way to "everlasting life". then give up, to exchange that "gift" to gain immortality.
the wt count of partaker is as meaningless as their whole holy horror story, it is all fiction, like the foundation, the talking snake story, that is the basis of it all.

Governing Body Members Autographing Bibles
by HereIgo ini have an online ex jw friend who pointed out to me that she stumbled upon a may 15, 1999 watchtower that had pictures of governing body members autographing bibles for people.
i have no bound volumes or cd rom copies anymore so i can verify.
two things came to mind, if this is true:.

I wish "Jesus "would have posthumously signed the gospels, verifying his supporting the Adam & Eve, Noah stories. Cleaned up my library, gave away "Mein Krampf", and they asked whether is was a signed copy. so, these can be gifts, authorisations, a product of treasure hunters.
Imagine if one could disprove wt doctrine to them from their signed copy, or argue a [heavenly] judgement case that way.

Need help with a reference dealing with the Generations and SPLAINE
by ttdtt inwhen originally explaining the "new generations" splaine used the example of joseph and his brothers.. he backed up the time difference between the original anointed, and the new ones by using what he said was a big age difference between the youngest "joseph" and his oldest brothers.. then more recently in a jw broadcast - he said that there was not a big age difference between joseph and his oldest brother.. can any one help me find both those, please?.

ttdtt's question likely relates to the only scriptural claim of wt concerning the 2 group generation, when "Joseph died, and all that generation" Exodus 1:6 is mentioned.
Picking the individuals and their ages of those contemporaries is not easy, and wrought with prejudicial error. (like the bible in the first place). so, sorry, I hope somebody can help ttdtt.
2075 is it.

he put the end before 2034.
that would only be a 42 year overlap from Fr. Franz, and less for those older partakers, that could have survived Franz, as mentioned by D. Splane, who would have been alive past 1992.
2075 is a more realistic upper figure.
Joseph age chronologies are notoriously vague, rounded up, convoluted. open to challenge, I would put my winning bet on the modern day, franz-like types.

I think you are trying to establish that by using a long lived, or short lived generation member , either in Joseph's oe Franz's time, David established different time envelopes. Wt writer were probably appalled that the 'older than Franz" scenario would kill the urgency by ending in 2075. The Joseph generation details would be very vague, a weak argument, as they are in the wt quiver.
The 1914 generation is dead, dead wrong, because it is now the anointed, and will pass away.

I agree, let us not trivialize this let us hear David Splane's two statements if they are on record. I am computer illiterate. but for a nerd it should be no big deal. I too am interested because Joseph and Cie. aside, if Franz and his older fellow partakers are the gold standard, we are looking at 2075. and we have it in their own, current words!

D. Splane aside. I would like to see the ages of the 12 brothers spelled out, stacked up for us, including Benjamin, to undo the GB's argument and use it against them, so far 2075 is a reasonable outer limit. The F&DS' "soon"

A retraction and apology - I posted incorrect information.
by doubtfull1799 init was recently brought to my attention by the person who was with me on the carts at the time, that a comment i made six months ago about the cart work on this forum was incorrect.
i apologise and in the interests of honesty and accuracy i feel it is only right to issue a public retraction.
i have quoted the post in question below as i am not sure how to correct or delete the original.

It has been well established that eye witness (pun just happened) are notoriously unreliable ( a lie lies in there too), and not intentionally. Bravo for you going back and sorting this out for the absolute truth's sake!

Last Week's Watchtower had something that made people start questioning things?
by silentbuddha ini just got a call from a friend who said that something in last weeks watchtower caused a number of people in various congregations to start questioning things, and several long time elders left.
i am totally out of the loop but i do read things here and i heard of no such thing.. something to the effect that jw's and governing boobies are not inspired or something along those lines?.

this week's watchtower too leaves many unanswered between the lines questions. Of course creation demands that you obey natural laws, or face a reduced life span, but on issues of choice?:
Obey sovereignty: stealing one fruit merits the death of billions and billions? succeeding in a building project merits worldwide mayhem through language communication disruption? slanting the level playing field in the Almighty's favour? Free will, free choice, but if you make your choice I will kill you?
