  each eye-opener in my awakening had nothing to do with apostates.

  it was always by looking directly at the so-called spiritual food that helped me awaken.. in 2019 they changed the wording of the second of two baptismal questions which are answered aloud before the audience.

  now i realize that these questions have been adjusted over the years.

  Overlapping Generation

  the september 2015 broadcast had david splane explain matthew 24:34 “truly, i say to you, this generation will not pass away until all these things take place”.

  his explanation of this scripture was by means of a chart to indicate an overlapping generation.. .

  no scripture was used to show the overlapping generation concept, and as a result it makes no sense.. to illustrate how crazy this concept is, look at the lyrics of the song my generation.. my generation.

  120 year life limit of Noah's generation....as in the days of Noah?

  Vh: The max human lifespan still is 120 years. Fr. Franz, cited by D. Splane was almost ~100, with ~ 80+ years in the "truth". D. Splane mentioned, that older anointed than that late wt leader could exist, to make up the 2 overlapping groups. so, do the math, let that sink in.

  2 hundred year old old timers, --, total 200 years, overlapping by 20 years each, like Franz, would be 160 years of consecutive life. then added to 1914 gives a 2075. Armageddon date.

  There were a few 120 year olds around, not wt anointed of course, but , having them seen as overlapping groups, would bring wt to 3014.

  even if they don’t heavily involve themselves in political matters, they still support social community issues.. do you respect when religious leaders involve themselves in the community for the community’s welfare?

  not wanting to hijack the thread, but yes, to get involved as individuals in some cases, like the old growth tree issue, the blockades, protests, since we want to see these old timers preserved into the next millennium. it is only because the US of A send in the Army can you today still touch wood, that was alive during moses time.

  wt adherents having actually concern for the environment, heritage, creation might be extraordinary enough for the government to take action.

  growing up i had the opportunity to live for a while in a farm like place with all kinds of animals.. mom and dad always taught us kids early, what to watch for because there were dangerous animals and insects roaming around.. snakes, black widows, brown recluse spiders, and so on.. there were times when i would just sit by this huge tree and wonder why jah would make all these animals that were dangerous, and hard to see, until it was too late.

  like the black widow spider.

  Personally, I think working for the best requires some universally beneficial guiding principles, without which, we regress towards predominantly selfish behaviours.

  PTB: right, the human species with it's mostly controlled, organized behaviour is perhaps already too successful of an evolutionary story. We are overrunning the good parts of the planet. The invention of an unseen, watchful deity, aka "religion" , was part of that internal control mechanism.

  Not that a shaper or creator of the universe should not be thanked., recognized.

  It was the norm to have the "friends" housed free in the convention cities, freely fed even, at one point, until wt inc discovered the inter-corporate benefit of going up-scale. (remember the rooming work?)

  The chicken story shows that the diets in those areas are mostly staples, with meat, raised without benefit from Monsanto and Bayer, as an expensive rarity.

  It is comical to see these humble people dressed in make belief corporate suits.

  make no mistake though, very happy individuals, families exist in those circumstances.

  god’s name disappeared in the christian greek scriptures and its pronunciation got lost in the hebrew-aramaic ones.

  the current vowels of the hebrew pronunciation of god’s name are taken from the “adonay” (“lord”) hebrew word which were the vowels chosen by who did not want to pronounce his name.

  whereas the current latin pronunciation of god’s name (“jehovah”) was introduced by raymundus martini, a spanish monk of the dominican order, in his book published in 1270 c.e.

  in job 31 v11 it states that an inappropriate sex act is a crime not a 'sin'.

  if this so between adults then it must extend that it is so if children are involved.

  but the wt refers to paedophilia as a sin..

  z & v, the context shows that Job was outlining here that he did not lustfully look at girls, not lurk at his neighbours door, so as to ambush, or seduce his neighbour's wife. A precursory statement to the coming " thou shalt not covet--" part of the ten commandments. At par with what Jesus said about "anyone that keeps looking at a woman so as to-- has already committed adultery--" so:

  the "sin" referring to is not an actual contact sex crime, , unless you include " voyeurism " laws, ( the installation of cameras, two way mirrors in showers) for example.

  has wt ever disfellowshipped anyone in a "keeps looking at a woman" case? ---- for pornography perhaps.

  Of course wt files also include all accusations, true or false. what a can of worms. wait, bait.
