  i was taken aback that paragraph 11 basically says that a relationship with god does not even begin until after dedication and baptism.

  did anyone notice this?

  i've been trying to find any similar statements in the wtl but so far haven't come up with anything.

  in the past, how effective has religious tv been for you?

  has watching religious tv made by moonies, evangelists, mormons or scientologists made you seriously reflect on spirituality?

  what you are forgeting is that once they start publishing the guilt trip messages and elders start mentioning in their talks, let alone the secret letters to the bodies of elders only - that will put a firm lock on the masses.

  You know the- jehovah has blessed us with our own form of tv so we can get away from satans world

  jehovah knows what we need at the proper time- then give some negative stats on why worldly tv is bad for us spiritually

  “The Tree of The Knowledge of Good and Bad”—Have JWs got it correctly?

  as for the tree of the knowledge of good and bad you must not eat from it, for in the day you eat from it you will positively die.

  (genesis 2:17).

  jws interpret this tree as the symbol knowledge of good and bad, right of god to set standards for us; hence eating of it means snatching gods right to rule over usthus self-rule means ruination and death, and conversely gods rule means blessings and eternal life.. this interpretation has some intrinsic problems!.

  I have always wonder this very thing.

  My conclusions:

  1. Both trees are ONLY symbols, with the one I believe set up as a test of choice. A test to prove loyalty and faith.

  2. God is ULTIMATE and he is beyond that made-up right to rule stuff when he controls and limits what satan and man can do.

  3. God was making a way to formulate his vision of the world needing Christ.

  4. WT has mis-translated the verses where Eve saw that the tree was GOOD.

  5. We don't know how long satan was against his father doing what was evil in making that choice

  6. God did create that "button" of evil, in that it's there as a choice

  7. Maybe God did not want Adam and Eve to experience bad/evil - I am more in favor of my first conclusion though.

  Amazing how WT trys to fiqure out Gods thinking especially when Gods thoughts are higher than mans.

  You all just wait, as the build up of content on tvJW, we will start hearing things such as:

  1. Why watch tv of the world when we have tvJW

  2. Jehovah has given us our own tv to watch, why watch Satans tv

  3. The faithful & discreet slave has given us what we need at the proper time our own tv

  4. After giving negative stats and bad effects of worldly tv, this now can be avoided in our own homes with tvJW

  5. Since jehovah has given us our own spiritual tv, to not take advantage of it is to tell jehovah that we don't appreciate his provisions of spirtual food.

  Any more ideas?

  Gog of Magog is still SATAN!!!

  during the public discourse today the brobot talked about the gog of magog, and he stated that he was satan!!!

  i had to ask my wife if i heard him correctly, and she said yes he said it is satan.... i couldnt wait to run up to the brobot after the meeting and inform him of he "new light" we just recieved yesterday!!!

  when i approached him i asked him : what is gog of magog?

  I agree with you Magnum! Talks are going on Worldwide and all the time. You would think that since the GB knows this stuff inadvance and since they are using email now- they could send an email with a follow up letter to tell the elders of the "NEW LIGHT" and tell them to keep silent about it until the AGM!!

  Then annouce it at the service meeting.

  I agree the GB is taking this food at the proper time thing to casual.

  Why didnt they have all the congregations "pipe-in" to the AGM- evidently they have the technolgy now!

  if i ever get the threat of being df'd i think i will say :.

  " the religion i left a few years ago no longer exists, you can't disfellowship me from a religion that i never had fellowship in !"..

  i know this will make no difference at all, as would whatever i said if they had made up their minds, but it would point out how very very silly the whole idea would be.. any other ideas to briefly sum up what a stupid thing dfing is ?.

  A friend of mine was told by an elder that if he didnt get rid of his little pony-tail he could be disfellowshipped. Same friend told that he can get disfellowshipped for having a dirty house.

  The person disfellowshipped in the bible was only disfellowshipped for 7 months for immorality! go figure.

  What does the building of Warwick HQ have to do with the Society's expectation of the end?

  this topic is a couple years late, but i just wanted to get this off my chest.

  i don't understand why people say that the society starting a project that won't finish until 2017 means that the end can't come until then, or that they don't expect the end before then.

  this isn't a very logical line of thought.

  Yes. your ENTIRE spiritual health hangs on missing a meeting!!! if you are a brother it cound means thumbs up or down if your were reaching out.

  the poor families that missed a few here or there were judged on whether they are good associates or not

  then the line that comes up - Missing a meeting is like missing a meal from Jehovahs table
