This should make most reasonable people stop believing in the Bible as infallible
by ILoveTTATT2 ini think that few parts of the bible can make you atheist or at least agnostic or at least kill your belief in the bible as infallible or the work of a loving god as comparing 2 samuel 24 with 1 chronicles 21. most people focus on the 1st verse, but there are at least 4 major and 1 minor contradiction in the chapter (they are parallel accounts).in the new world translation, 2 samuel 24 starts like this:.
24 and again the anger of jehovah came to be hot against israel, when one incited david against them, saying: “go, take a count of israel and judah.” .
notice that it is an impersonal "one" who incited david to do the census.

More bad news for the Organisation in Australia
by no-zombie init appears the the commonwealth government is bringing in a national compensation scheme for victims of institutional child sexual abuse with individuals able to claim up to $150,000 each.
it's clear that the australian government will not be able to fund this program without serious money from the offending churches.
so it's bad news for the organization today.. http://www.abc.net.au/news/2016-11-04/government-announces-redress-for-abuse-victims/7996092.

I put this on another post but thought it would also apply here:
The compensation scheme will be set up by the Australian government.
The victim applies to the scheme for compensation.
The scheme assesses and pays compensation if warranted up to $150,000.
The government can either bill the religious institution for the full amount or require the religion to pay into the scheme according to how many known victims or ordained ministers and/or volunteers the religion has on its books. Watchtower and the JWs hold the record in Australia in pretty much every category.

Will Jehovah`s Witnesses join with other religions in Compensation Payouts ?
by smiddy injustice mcclellen asked g.jackson about compensation for victims of child abuse , and mcclellan suggested it be by a consortium of groups , presumably religious and secular in nature as a pool to dispense approppiate compensation to all of the victims involved .. g.jackson hesitated and said they would have to look at the details of that proposal , before committing to it.. jehovah`s witnesses consider themselves as the only true religion and ,all others as false religion .. they take pains to separate themselves from from any association with other religions , not even being included in newspaper notices about church services.they want to keep themselves separate and distinct from false religion as they see them.. so how do you think they will handle this suggestion / requirement ?
will they join in aligning themselves with "babylon the great" in compensation .?.
didn`t they align themselves with another religion in the u.s.a. some years ago , that had to do with the w.t.

AUSTRALIAN CHILD ABUSE ROYAL COMMISSION - An investigatory commission set up by the Australian government to look into child abuse in institutions but whose real intention is to attack and persecute jehovah's witnesses.
RELIGIOUS PERSECUTION - Self inflicted harm carried out by Watchtower corporations due to poor organizational direction ordered by the governing body of jehovah's witnesses.

Single malt is the way to go. The experience is greatly enhanced with at least one or two drops of water as it opens out the whisky. Glenfiddich single malt is my favourite, the older the better. I'm up to 18 year old scotch and only one bottle per year.
I don't mind the Johnnie Walker Gold or Blue. I still have about 2 good nips left of my Blue. Haven't tried the King George V but couldn't justify the price.

The statement by the GB stinks. I smell a red herring in the first part of the second sentence (in bold) coupled with a deflection technique.
The Governing Body is neither inspired nor infallible. Therefore, it can err in doctrinal matters or in organizational direction. In fact, the Watch Tower Publications Index includes the heading “Beliefs Clarified,” which lists adjustments in our Scriptural understanding since 1870.
I believe the real subject is a yet unknown or unpublished failure in relation to organizational direction. This is what the statement could really be about:
The Governing Body is neither inspired nor infallible. Therefore, it can err in . . . organizational direction.
The GB have never cared about changing doctrinal beliefs, nor in the flip-flops of Watchtower teachings. They do care about money and this has been evident the past year or so in their cutbacks in printing, grab for cash, selling of assets, seizing of kingdom halls, begging for donations, downsizing, and various money raising schemes.
This recent statement, if indeed about doctrinal errors, is serious enough to have warranted discussion at last month's Annual General Meeting but was not mentioned.
Something has changed in the past few weeks that the GB may have been hoping they could get away with or keep hidden, possibly to do with organizational directions they have given to the Watchtower corporations.
The February 2017 Watchtower statement, highlighted above, is also out of context with the paragraph, the subheading and the entire study article. It appears more like an afterthought designed to prepare for a future organizational direction failure of such a scale that the GB have no control over.
It is strange that the GB would allow organizational failures of the Watchtower to be placed at their feet and not at the feet of the recently reshuffled Watchtower board of directors. Let the finger pointing and blame shifting begin.

So the Elders want to get together, and I kinda want to.
by Darkknight757 inso the wife and i were uninvited to another jw get together which we didn't want to go to anyways.
finally we find out that something on my facebook account is getting some people's in my old halls undies in a bunch.
so i was thinking of meeting with them to at least clear my wife's name and give them some much needed hell.

Darkknight757 - Then turn the tables. Follow my suggestion and give a copy of the letter, or postcard, to your family as well. Don't turn up to any meetings with the elders and have nothing to do with them. If they d'fed you in absentee then later reveal to your family where you got the quote from and give them the choice whether to completely shun you for sharing a quote from the latest Watchtower. You will always have a story on why you were d'fed.
The two above suggested quotes from the one Watchtower article can be reversed if it makes more sense. Remember, some elders have already made up their mind and are only looking for a pretext. Imagine the shock when they eventually read the Watchtower magazine and realize what they did. They cannot claim the d'fed of you and your wife by the boe was inspired or infalluble if even their beloved gb are not. Cheers.

i really hate all these "what if" posts
by nowwhat? inall these hypothetical questions about the organization's demise or what if god did this or that don't do anyone any good.
personal experiences.
info and insight about your congregation, circuit, area and the watchtower itself is what we need.
