Nothing pisses off a JW more than the idea that the modern day state of Israel is the fulfillment of bible prophecy. They are starting to preach the same batshit crazy stuff that the American evangelical 700 club Ned Flanders types are preaching, just replacing Israel with themselves.
The hatred of all things Christian is what is really driving JWs to the holy land. Same reason the muslims are always pissed off too.

an odd letter was read at last nights' meeting.
it was in regards to a special campaign for next year arranged by the governing body to go and preach in israel.
the call is going out to anybody that speaks hebrew and english.
The WTS to me is borderline anti-sematic and just the idea there are actually JWs in Israel just blows me away.

I asked an Elder where in the bible the term Israel now means governing body and of course he showed me Galatians 6:16 ( the Israel of God ). I explained the book of Galatians to him and how I believe Paul was just warning an early Gentile church about the Judaizers and the Israel of god was most likely a reference to early Jewish Christians who believed in the law of Christ, not the law of moses.
He never talked to me again. It is quite scary how little the average JW knows about the bible. Like the means of the individual books of the books and the greater themes and how they are all related to each other. It is just mindless propaganda.
i believe the last two wt studies in the 7/14 wt study articles were planned for this exact time and did not come about by happenstance... the jw cult is preparing the rank and file for some faith altering "new light" to be announced fairly soon, and these scare tactics will do just the trick.... the articles are preparing the rank and file to become apostataphobic, they have the rank and file in such a frenzy, even have them questioning themselves and their own motives for being in the borg!.

I think the society realizes now that any real sincere student of the bible would when carefully studying the bible would pretty much have to reject the majority of what they teach.
For decades they tried to bambozeal everyone pretending like they bible experts with their 2 plus 2 = 7 and up really means down etc etc. I think the internet has really shown people how to cut though the bullshit and see it for the idol worship it is.

i used to be very impressed with convention experiences regarding how worldly employers would hire jws because they were known as the most honest workers.
i was too indoctrinated to realise these were selective experiences, and there are plenty of experiences of jws being dishonest in the workforce.

I knew a guy that what do it over and over till he would be fired. Of course his elder father just thought he was a real martyr. The truth was he was just a lazy loser who will live at home forever. He is nearly 40 now and never moved away, never kept a job for more than three months.

The ironic part is this actually fits in with Christian theology with the whole thing about all the non-Christians being left behind and being killed and such. I actually pointed that out to an elder one time. He wasn’t impressed.
So what exactly does the watchtower teach? I thought the JWs were suppose to have some kind of super natural protection in the great tribulation? Is the purpose of being a big group so you can combine your hours with the pioneers or something when Jehovah is throwing the fireballs.

"at that time, the lifesaving direction that we receive from jehovahs organization may not appear practical from a human standpoint.
all of us must be ready to obey any instructions we may receive, whether these appear sound from a strategic or human standpoint or not.".
