I dont go to meetings, but I enjoy listening by phone just to analyze what's said from my current perspective.

Do you still go to meetings?
by NikL inas i was sitting in the meeting last night i thought about this question.. sometimes it feels really lonely because i don't connect with most others in the congregation and i have to be so careful with the ones with whom i do associate.. quick rundown on my life...got baptized at 17...married at 20...became inactive at 28 wife still active though...came back to meetings with her 20 years later just to keep her quiet and see if they had changed (for a while i actually thought they had)...now i am still inactive and haven't gone out in service or anything.
i just go to meetings with my wife who is happy as a lark to have me there with her...just go to meetings and think...and think...and think.... anyway, i just wondered if there are any out there like me who are going to meetings and nothing else?.

It's true, but to many, CoC is very powerfully convincing since it comes from a source at the top. When I first found out late last year that a former GB had become apostate and written a book, I was so intrigued to learn more about it that I dared myself to read only the first few pages of the book, but of course, I couldn't put it down. A few weeks later, I knew this was not the truth.Besides, a quick hover over at Amazon will reveal many more great books on this cult.
For the life of me, I don't understand why Ray would have not just placed the book in a public domain where it can be digitally available to anyone. A JW with doubts is not going to buy a hard copy of this book. Instead, like myself, they will search for a digital copy that they can secretly read on their device.

This guy is climbing up the ladder. He's on the Hezekiah drama from the summer convention video and he also appears to be a singer in the WT chorus:

My plans for Christmas this year
by UnshackleTheChains in1. attend a charity christmas party which my wife (active jw) helps to organise each year 😀.
2. buy a very small christmas tree with lights for the living room (which can easily be hidden away if jw friends are coming up).
3. buy some nice presents for my family.

Unofficial Year Texts
by sir82 injust got done watching the november broadcast.
for the umpteenth time this year, the message was clear: "shun your adult children, no matter how painful it is for you".. which got me thinking, the "real" message that the watchtower wants to impart to its adherents seems to be varying year over year.
if they were honest, their "year texts" would reflect that.. here is my compendium of what the true" year texts have been of late:.

so thier is no changing anyone here's mind
A Believer, almost all of us were JWs, so we are all well aware of their doctrine, in fact, probably more so than many of the current rank and file JWs. At some point in each of our lives, we were able to take a step back, analyze the facts about the religion and determine that the evidence against it outweighs the evidence for it.
If you haven't already visited JWFACTS.com, I invite you to at least analyze this one article, that briefly explains why it is NOT "the truth".

That is not the official teaching of the WT any longer. Their current and official teaching is that the second group, those born AFTER 1914, will be the ones around when the great tribulation arrives. You my friend, are defending "old light".Wizzstick Can't you remember events from 3-4 years old? If thier were some that age in 1914 they would remember it and be 103 today. Google the oldest people living today and you will many older than that. And more that don't have thier birth date on the internet for all to see.

Interperatation of Revelation 13 due for an update?
by pale.emperor inregarding the watchtower interpretation of revelation 13 https://www.jw.org/en/publications/magazines/g201105/seventh-world-power-bible-history/ - identifying the usa and britain as part of the legs of iron from daniels vision... i think they're gonna have to update this one in the next decade.. trump seems to be the last person who'd work closely with a female prime minister for one, secondly, us brits aint so powerful as we once was.
trump appears to be pretty ok with dealing with russia and for all we know could become an ally with them.. your thoughts?.
now that i read the watchtower interpretation of revelation without my jw spectacles on, it's laughable that they come to these conclusions..
