if someone is demanding thanks or praise or claiming that anyone who objects to war owes them a debt of gratitude for wars such as the one just faught ... well, I think they have a slightly warped viewpoint.
I don't know about 'demanding' it, but surely if you have a right to view war as objectionable, then those that fight them have the right to view your lack of gratitude as objectionable.

after reading the wt for last week's lesson on god's creative works i couldnt help but think that there really is a god, there has to be.
i dont want to start a creation vs. evolution debate but you have to agree that its an extremely remote chance that the whole universe, the planets, stars, the sun, the earth, the animals, humans came about by accident.

she said my youngest daugher was in a bad car accident.
i asked her what happened, and told me that she was just pulling out from the drive way, and made a left turn.

I'm a coke drinker and love it the way it is now.I remember about 15 years ago, when they wanted coke to taste like pepsi and made a change. Their sales went way down, and they brought back the coke classic.
I hope they learned their lesson, and won't tamper with the original formula.
I worked for Coke when they did this. It was a publicity stunt, and it worked - They came back better, bigger and stronger.

i have been calling my kids for some time now.
i am moving far away soon, and since i haven't had any contact with my daughters, i called them to let them know i was moving, and would like to say goodbye, before i flew away.
weeks went by, as ususal, and no response.

Mortgage interest was at 17% (I was luckly, because my mortgage was only 16%) and few people could buy a house ... unemployment was at 10% and rising ... and the economy was in a mess. The upper marginal income tax rate was 70%. The Soviet Union was making hell around the world, either directly, or through its subordinate puppet states.Reagan launched the greatest and longest post-war (WWII for the young people) economic boom, a boom that George Sr. and Clinton inherited. He forced the conditions which led to the fall of the Soviet Union and Communism around the world ... all without a shot being fired. Tax rates were brought down to 28%. Unemployment reduced to 4% or less. And now today we enjoy 6% mortgage rates.
He had trouble with the Iran-Contra scandal, but I agreed with his actions ... the scandale went away. While the lower tax rates boomed the economy, which brought in more tax revenue by virtue of the growth, the spend-happy members of congress managed to keep over-spending ... my only complaint about Reagan is that he signed the spending bills. I wish he would have shut down the government until Congress got serious about spending cuts.
Ronald Reagan achieved far more in eight years than Franklin Roosevelt did in 14 years as President ... and the claims that he killed more people than Pol Pot is typical of the radical idiots who refuse to take an honest look at history.
