Just FWI - one of the 100 things that make the "water canopy" posed by the WT utterly stupid and impossible is this:

Ask who thinks there was one this question. So how much do you think it rained? No no one is gonna say like 30 ft, or 50ft. They are gonna go pretty high. Just say for giggles they say 500ft.

Remind them if that was the case. Atmospheric pressure a at sea level would be like you were living 500ft under the sea. Any thing living on the ground, like all mammals, would have been crushed by that type of pressure. So the nice snake that Eve talked to, could not have existed then. Nor any bears or lions that Adam snuggled with.

Also not one bird could have lived or flown.

Now if they say, like what I have usually heard, "maybe a mile of water" well that makes the argument for a canopy even sillier.

There are many simple irrefutable common sense arguments against the flood without getting to technical.

the watchtower doesn't hold out any hope for us ever seeing our beloved animals again.

i find it very difficult to believe that god -- a god of love -- would refuse to resurrect an animal that we had become so attached to.

over the years i have bonded with no less than four (4) dogs, all of which were/are like family to me.

True Story

Even as a ALL IN ELDER, UBER ELDER in fact, I had to battle this over and over to no avail.

I had a part and an elders wife made the comment about there being NO RAIN till the flood.

So after the meeting I told her nicely that that was very old thinking, and not accurate.

I showed her in Genesis where there were 3 rivers in Eden and asked her, so where does the water come from for rivers. She reluctantly kinda agreed. (I know she never changed her mind).

WORSE

A friend who at the time was a MS, and someone I thought was reasonably smart made the same comment to me.

When I told him, well we dont think that any more, and the 3 rivers thing, he seemed to not get it.

I asked him how do rivers form, where does the water come from, his answer floored me.

"The Ocean I guess"

OMG!!!! I wanted to just explode.

FYI - the WT has said for many decades that the mountains pre flood were much much smaller. They dont say that the flood covered Everest.

They say tons of silly bullshit - we don't need to embellish.

she sure has gone down in my estimation as an actress and /or role model for young women if that what she was ever about in the first place .. how gross is that ?

Sounds great to me!

She is also promoting psychedelics now wich has been shown over and over in clinical trials to be A) not toxic B) so helpful with many issues like depression and addiction.

So as fruity is some can rightfully think of Gwenny - she is doing good by my book.

No one has to pay her any mind if they dont want to by the way.

I think the public over idolizes professional sport athletes.

I think what happens in these cases is that it brings the reality of death being around the corner for anyone smack in your face.

Celebrities are like a common friend we all know, and are of course are seen as privileged and larger than life.

When something tragic happens to them, I think inside it can hit us harder knowing there is no escape from death, and something silly as a slip and fall, or as horrific as a helicopter crash can happen to anyone at anytime.

This hit me pretty hard.

After a lifetime of really believing "that I will never die", and now becoming an atheist with no belief in any afterlife, the knowledge that it's all over pretty soon, and that my past was stolen, and my future is not what it should be is sadly a daily struggle for me to cope.

My kids are everything to me.
And even that has been adulterated by the WT.
I would have loved to have 3 or 4 kids, not only 2.
But we waited to do spiritual things first. (lucky my wifes clocked ticked when it did).

So instead of a big family, and having kids in my 20s and 30s, and being able to enjoy them and grandkids for a good portion of my life, I get an abridged version of that.

The cost of a cult is so high.

Sorry for my rambling, just needed to get it out.
