  The Washtowel has a crazy obsession with diminishing the important of Jesus' sacrifice for humankind. There are more than one article from them saying something like: "Providing salvation was not that important God's sovereignty was more important.

  I find this so antichristian. I mean, How can you ignore scriptures like John 3:16?

  Here is WT's latest antichristian quote, from January 26 study WT:

  "Doing things Jehovah's way is the right way to live." And what evidence is there that worshiping a made up god is the right way to live? When history shows that the god of the old testament was a pretty evil god.

  Are they talking about the same Jehovah that botched that whole inconvenience with Adam and Eve?

  The same Jehovah who acted like he was insane having a hissy fit over the so called wickedness of the pre flood world and who demonstrated that he had no real compassion for any adult, mother, father, the little children........ even the unborn and anything else that was alive.

  Jehovah the idiot god of Israel who called for the genocide of babies in their wars so that his chosen people could be secure.

  My mind is just boggled by the wt quote. For mainstream Christians, there is nothing more important than the salvation offered to all through the blood of Christ upon the Cross.

  JoenB75, The point is that they insist to inplant the idea that Jesus did not come to earth to save humanity first and foremost, but to settle God's sovereignty. The text you cited, explicitly says "he [Jesus] became the source of eternal salvation". Once again, proving that opening up a path for salvation was the main goal of Jesus coming to earth.

  WT attitude? "Nah, that's not that important. There are more important things in question."

  The biggest error the Watchtower make in this topic is to identify Jesus' death with the sin of Adam.

  According to any Christian Jesus died for their sins. According to any JW Jesus died for Adam's sin.

  Russell taught vicarious sacrifice and defended it against Nelson Barbour's attack on the doctrine. It was over this point that they split up.

  Rutherford turned it into a legalistic transaction and now no JW would think in terms of Jesus' death as a vicarious punishment for their own personal sins.

  Why this inhumane and terrible sacrifice ? Isnt there any other method to provide a solution other than this bloody, excruciating and violent so called "sacrifice".
