So glad I'm out! Can't believe I was ever so gullible. Reading about their constant flip flopping makes me dizzy. It's not new light, it's called covering your butt!

Welcome back, jbeau! Sorry you are having such a difficult time. Please don't feel as if you have no community to turn to, you have everyone on this board!
Could you get your Mom to go for a physical? Tell her she hasn't seemed her usual self, and you're worried. I hate to say this, but it is possible your Mom is going through menopause. Some women get nutty while they are going through it, and that can be helped by a gyn/hormone specialist who knows what they are doing. I know, I am on bio-identical hormones now, cause I was turning into a major bit**, with anxiety levels through the roof. If there is nothing physically askew, then perhaps you could get her to a professional counselor?
If your Mom refuses to co-operate, and Granny won't help, then perhaps you need to think seriously about how soon you can get out on your own. You have to take care of your emotional self. Take stock of what you need to do, start making friends outside the org., and start making a life for yourself. All the best to you!

I need some serious advice...
by confusedteenager ini'm almost a year out of high school and of course, i'm not in college.
i'm a pioneer (sigh) with little to no work experience and having a really hard time finding any work.
i want to go back to college, but it's going to be difficult now that i'm a pioneer, and my parents cannot really afford the loans that will incur should i pursue going to college.

You have been given sound advice, confused. Definately check out the local community college. The counselors there should be able to direct you to grants and loans that are available. They are great starting points at a very reasonable cost, especially when your not sure what direction to go in. And a community college probably won't seem too awful to your parents, since you can stay home. I hope they will be supportive of your decision. They must be aware that the job market is tight, and that one day you need to be on your own and self-supporting. Better to do it while you are young. All the best to you!

Your worst convention experience.

It was the hottest Summer in a long time. The 3 day was held at a large concert venue that had no ac. I was there with my youngest child, it was about 100 degrees inside the stadium, and we left our seats to use the restrooms. I left books on our seats to save them, as single Moms rarely were offered help/rides with others once they were baptised. (In fact, I was asked to pick up others, while elders/ms & their fams went alone) Daughter was about 5. When we returned to our seats, a family of obese people had taken over our 1 of our seats, lookedat us in contempt as if we were in their way. I had to hold a hot, bored, squirmy child on my lap for the a.m. session. I was already having doubts, and thought to myself " THIS IS B.S." & left.

An apostate goes public
by Borges ini mentioned in a thread some weeks ago ( http://www.jehovahs-witness.net/jw/friends/244078/1/first-public-talk-as-an-apostate ), that i was invited to give a talk at a symposium about cults.
this will take place at the first weekend in may.. i'm going to talk about the difficulties you have to face when leaving the jw.
yesterday i've got an another invitation to speak to a senior year class in a middle school.

That's awesome, Borges! Way to put the word out. Who knows who you may prevent from getting involved with jw's or any cult? All the best to you!

I think you handled the situation beautifully, Anon! Hopefully they got the message, and will leave you alone now.
If it happens again, perhaps you could simply remind them that there are laws against stalking, and let them know that if they show up again, you will look into a restraining order. Other than that , I hope you will just let it go and live a happy life. They are just not worth wasting your time and energy on. Don't give them the satisfaction of thinking they can get to you, or that you even think about them. Happy Life!

What are you looking for, allcool? Main courses? Dinner? Breakfast? One pot? Diet restrictions? Are there things she dislikes ( my one daughter dislikes Indian food, whereas all the others love it) I have some easy recipes that my family is very fond of that I would be happy to share later this evening.

Did reading Jwfacts help you? Please take a moment to say thanks..
by The Quiet One init seems as though so many of the stories of people who are now mentally free that i read on here involved reading jwfacts.com at some point along the way.. he basically saved my sanity (questionable, i know!
), and was never as sensational and garish as other sites which immediately scared me away.
why not take a minute out of your day to say thanks for any difference that jwfacts made to your life, and tell us what it was that helped you?...
