Read my post again. You will see that I am willing to forgive those that cease their persecution of those that do not share their belief.
If they come out of the org in the thousands it can be assumed they no longer persecute others.
Until they cease the persecution of others I find no reason to forgive those that are hurting me and my family.
Would you forgive some one who punched you in the face right after he did so time after time?

I agree Teejay, we need to forgive ourselves and others.
However I find that those who continue to persecute me because I no longer believe as they do, by shunning me and those that promote this conduct are not in a position to be forgiven.
I can forgive those who ask for forgivness or even those who do not ask for forgivness but do not persecute me any longer.
If they persist in treating me like dirt or as they put it "like a poison snake" they are not worthy of forgivness, nor do they want my forgivness.
They tell others that I am spiritualy dead. Which is as close to murder as the legal authorities will allow. They refer to ot scriptures about stoning to death and say "I should be glad I don't live in that time, because I would be killed".

a close friend of mine, in fact a lurker here, got a call last night inviting him to a jc meeting, accused of apostasy.
he would like to avoid this because of the things it would complicate, and would like to just be left alone.
i know in the past i have read comments of some who have threatened legal action in this situation.
I know of one case that took place about 15 yrs. ago.
This sister was to be called before a jc. I don't know what the dfing offense was. Her husband a non believer was an attorney. He sent the po a certified letter on his letter head stating, that if they took any action of any kind against his wife, he would sue the wbts and the individual elders. The elders contacted the wbts legal desk and were told to drop the whole thing.
I don't know if that would be their policy today, but it worked at that time.
Might be worth a try to contact an attorney and get one sent to the po on the attorneys letter head with a threat he feels might get the same reaction.
With the upcoming mass lawsuits and possible class action suits by the legal firm that posts on here, this may have them wanting to dodge any new bullets.

let's face it.... the only reason the d.c. sniper was caught was because his pride--arrogance, really--got out of hand.
he bragged about another cold-blooded killing that he had made a month ago.
what his stupid ass didn't realize is that he gave a break to competent officials who were looking for any opening.
I don't think we can relate the Al Qaeda to the two snipers in the DC area.
The motives of the snipers is entirely different than the Al Qaeda and the training and philosophy is centered around different goals.
If an Al Qaeda member demonstrates the kind of arrogance usually found in serial killers the leaders will get rid of them. They are more comparable to the military in their thinking and training except they train for different methods of attack.
I think that to apply the same methods and psychology to the Al Qaeda as used in the criminal justice system is a mistake.

Once I was offered a job on a tuna boat. Before they used purse seining nets. They had men with poles and baited hooks on lines stand on a platform and heave the fish over their shoulder to the deck when one was caught.
This guy made the job of "baiting" the hooks look like a fun thing. One started out as a junior position them made journeyman but made the best money as a MASTER BAITER.
I didn't take the job as I was already proficient at that title.
He drug this joke out for a week or two every time he came to the shop. Lead me "a dumb kid right along like a tuna". Embarrassed me right in front of all the older guys.

The worst I saw was the willingness to sacrifice ones child to the demands of the gb by refusing a blood transfusion. This was based on the gb twisting of bible statements. This order was enforced by the threat of disfellowshipment.

I agree that I have myself to blame for falling for the wtbs crap for so long and letting my children grow up in that environment.
When I ponder the situation with my grandchildren and not having the relations that I ought to have but do not and learn that recently the wbts has reinforced the demand that shunning be used against me I see the wbts as my enemy.
When I see the efforts made by many to make changes in the wbts demands regarding this and other harmfull teachings and the arrogance and anger displayed in refusing to even consider this, I see the wbts as an enemy to everyone. .
When I think about the jw's dying in Malawi due to obeying a ridiculous demand regarding an insignifigant card I view the wbts as an enemy to everyone.
Since the wbts teachings and demands cause needless deaths and suffering and protects pedophiles, destroys mariages, destroys families, causes untold grief in those who dare to disbelieve or abandon the wbts they are truly a dangerous group and everyones enemy.

I think that there is a strong possibility of life on other planets and the descriptions and cave paintings and ancient artifacts seem to depict what could be called a form of ufo ships.
An author Zecharia Sitchin wrote a lot about the ancient evidence indicating visits by aliens.

last friday, one of our employees' home burned to the ground, killing all 3 of his children.
i began the process of taking up a collection, buying the card, etc.
all of us were shocked to the core for this man's tragedy and suffering.
It was sure an eye opener when I came out of the worlds most loving and caring and giving religion and found those old evil worldly people to be so much more loving and caring and giving.
Also the worldly people are much less demanding and in a lot of situations one can actually reason with them. It even goes so far that one can actually disagree with them and not be excomunicated.
What is wrong with all these worldly people? Don't they know that is not christian like?
