  This was from the US zone visit a couple years back broadcast to all US congregations. He gave his "tight pants" and "spanx" rants at this time as well.

  What amazes me is some JWs do not seem to understand this is the insider, Official teaching of Watchtower: if you are not an active JW in good standing, you will eternally perish at Armageddon. This message has essentially unchanged since Rutherford's time.

  Of course, the "outsider teaching" dances around this: God is the judge, not us, ect, ect...

  Trinitarian vs Arian debates have been going on for nearly 2000 years. The matter seems purely academic and at the end of the day not all that big of deal who is "right" and who is "wrong".

  I am curious about what you said that the reason you lost respect for the Governing Body is because they "goofified meethings & assemblies". What do object to about their format?

  Have you looked into other matters: 607, 1914, ect?

  I agree. 99% of JWs hate the meetings, find them dull as wallpaper, but it's a sin to say so. Of course, regular meeting attendance is one of the prerequisites for everlasting life along with "field service" which is something most JWs also hate to do.

  When I was in, it was a matter of social anxiety. I wanted to sit somewhere that was out of the view of the crowd.

  well, very little, to be honest.

  the structure and commitment of the ministry provided discipline necessary to my life.

  therefore, i did it, as required, and felt some sense of fulfillment at the bible study stage.. i do like talking to people.

  mike from greece is a member of a pro-jw forum (message board).. the jw religion has so many rules so mike wants to clarify some correct procedures.. what woud you like to know, mike?.

  a couple of questions dear brothers & sisters of the forum about women's head coverings1)should it be considered wrong for a sister to wear a head covering during the meetings?

  i have seen some old sisters, one in our congregation and a couple in other two that like wearing head coverings during the meetings.

  i heard in years past that there was such a tract planned for the great tribulation.

  my father at the time denied this, and reasoned that that would not be a loving thing for them to do, to essentially say, "told ya so!".

  last year, the bunker videos had brother brown mention "a message of judgment".. has such material been drafted or is this just another bluff?.

  Voting At Meetings

  why is it that the watchtower finances are cloaked in secrecy, yet when the congregation is ask to approve extra donations to the organization, the voting is in public, so everyone can see who is "loyal" to jehovah.. hmm... i think i just answered my question.

  When The Persecution Comes

  when i was young everybody used to fantasise constantly about how brave we would all need to be "when the persecution comes".

  we worried about what "they" would do to us and how we would never talk or betray other jws.

  psychologically it was a damaging environment for children; but maybe that's another topic.. who would have thought that when it finally came it would take the form of being sued for protecting pedophiles.
