hi, i just joined the board and wanted to present myself.. i'm active, in fact very active in congregation activities serving "where the need is great" in a foreign language congregation somewhere in western europe.

as a young brother, i'm seen as an example as i'm doing all a good witness should do.. i had doubts years ago but i decided just to ignore them and move to another congregation to preach more.

that worked for some years but i'm now at the exact same point.

I know from experience that posting to a forum like this is a brave step. If you haven't already, hopefully you are checking out JWfacts, a site I found to be 100% verifiable. If you can, I encourage you to read Crisis of Conscience.

The lack of love in the organization is unfortunately nothing new, nor confined to the rank and file, but reaches all the way into the upper echelons. From much contemplation, I believe whatever love I thought there was among 'the friends' was basically fool's gold in the first place.

When I was a teenage, an elder took it upon himself to warn me that some young guys at school might get together in a circle and well, you can probably fill in the rest. He asked if I'd ever heard of anyone doing that. Well, I was a relatively sheltered kid, I'd never heard or even conceived of such a thing.

Saddest thing about being DFd

i always enjoyed being kind.

when someone genuinely needed a hand or what not, it felt good to help family or friends.. i don't really miss them anymore.

i faded over two years ago, so they long ago shunned me.i think about them less and less and have even forgotten some names.i did enjoy some of the friendships and the association.

I agree. Likely, if they asked me, if it were in my power, I would help them. Of course, they won't ask.

I've been trying to post to this thread, but for some reason, it keeps hanging. But what I wanted to add is that Scientology is also against real education. In reading Leah Remeni's book Troublemaker, it is interesting how being "on course" in learning Scientology teachings is viewed as the most important kind of education, even trumping public schooling.

Sound familiar?

cragun is a sociologist and an ex-mormon who thought it would be fun to take what he'd learnt about religious decline from sociology and see if he could apply it as a number of proactive steps to undermine religion.

As a member of any organization, religious or not, I would donate to, I would want 100% transparency. I would think most rank and file JWs would not object, but Watchtower definitly would.

Some congregations in my area have being "re-orged" or merged. Gone are the days of bustling days of the split...the opposite is happening.

It wouldn't surprise me if this verse will be reinterpreted to mean the "work is speeding up."

Liquidation sale of RBC assets

got this very interesting email last night and i thought i'd share it.. this is from the local rbc.. "in harmony with our new ldc form we have been asked by the branch to liquidate all current assets of used tools and materials once owned by the rbc.

you are invited to visit the equipment trailers to acquire items being liquidated by the rbc asset team, these items will be offered on a first come bases with voluntary donation.

if you see any item you like please be in position to take it with you at that time, after you return to your congregation then you will make a donation of cash or check in the congregation contribution box designated for the support of the worldwide work.
