When you were young did your parents embarrass you?
by greenhornet inone example is when my mom went to the doctors office she would check in and say in a very loud voice "im one of jehovah's witnesses and i don't want a blood transfusion.
she would like say this do every one at the doctor's office.
i was 16 years old and i say mom no one here is going to do this to you.. another time is when we go out to eat my dad would pray out loud and say "jeehoovah" really loud.

Well another one leaves the Borg.
by John Aquila ini took a quick trip to the store and i happened to see a young man (about 26-28 years old) who got baptized about the same time i was leaving- about 2 years ago.
a couple of pioneer sisters found him in the door to door work.
one of them, a very attractive girl.

I think allot of the few people who are coming in do it because of the lovebombing and the attention of those trying to convert them. Many convert during a traumatic time in their life or if they are disgruntled by their church or pastor. The JWs studying with them will be extra nice, make allot allowances, seem non-judgemental, and seem so different from other churchgoers. Then they get dunked and everything changes. -

WT September 2015 (Public edition) - We never petition for Money
by Designer Stubble inpage 6 of the september 2015 public wt, under the heading "how is our ministry financed"our work is supported entirely by voluntary donations.
(2 corinthians 9:7) in 1879, the second issue of this magazine stated: zions watch tower [as this magazine was then called] has, we believe jehovah for its backer, and while this is the case it will never beg nor petition men for support.
we have not wavered from that policy.

So while they begged for money in the May broadcast, I guess technically they can say that the Watchtower magazine itself didn't do the begging...

Undue influence - other areas in life
by DavidG inafter gradually waking up to ttatt im finding myself with this question:.
since it is so easy to be indoctrinated with jw beliefs, are there other areas in my life where i'm also under influance of other false beliefs?
from the culture i've grown up with, school etc?.

There is a difference between influence and undue influence. Influence is a continuum…at the extreme end would be undue influence, which is implementing by the methods found in the BITE model.

If Women were elders, would it make a difference in the organization?
by John Aquila inimagine three single sisters who qualified to be appointed as elders in the congregation.
they qualified because they started reaching out in their early teens.
persistently and methodically they worked their way through the ranks by pioneering then becoming a m.s.

As long as elders have to follow the Flock book, rather than their own conscience, gender doesn't make much of a difference. -

He is a person who guards his privacy very much. I'm sure this thread is alarming to him as well as the recent inquiry. I believe we should leave this conversation here.
