No, because David Splane is not as good of a composer as he thinks he is.
They should've gotten Prince to do some music while they had a chance.
amazing grace have been around since 1779, how great thou art 1885,holy holy holy 1826, be thou my vision (ireland) 6th century, all creatures of god and king (italy)1225. so you think one day we will hear a kingdumb song playing over the radio.
you would think surely jehovah want the world to be familiar with his hymns.... maybe they have instructed the rf to only sing their songs in the kh, only for special folks..

you will find several countries listed where the ministry and practice of jws is banned and/or constrained.
As Steven Hassan said, "Cult members naturally feel they know more about what's going on in their group than outsiders do, but in counseling ex-members I find that they often know the least."
i was going to reply to another thread, but thought this might deserve a separate topic.. my observations when i was a still in.. the announcement that jesus christ (the co) is visiting our local kh.. would anyone like to "volunteer" their time, money and accommodation for jesus christ.. all ass lickers of said kh come forward to receive jesus christ.
a concerted effort for all to be out in the ministry that week, along with panicking elders visiting homes of those who have not been at the meetings for at least a week, offering "encouragement" so that the number of attendance is up for the week visit.. the self righteous in the kh who would never speak to you (pioneers included) and look down their noses at you all of a sudden start to speak to you.. during the visit, the elders are on their best behavior, thanking everyone who answers up.
the pioneers are martyring themselves by making cakes and practically washing the feet of the jesus christ.. the attendance does rise, with studies being brought along, to show jesus christ what a good little jw they are.. most indoctrinated jw's practically shoot each other to have a turn on the ministry with jesus christ!.
Ah yes, the green handshakes as well.
we are currently living in a country where at the cinema the national anthem is played before the start of the movie and it is law that you stand.
does anyone know what current jw thinking is on this?
i know there has been various changes over the years.
All this made me stand out at school events and sometimes earned the ire of teachers and students.
When I was a JW, I was taught:
If the national anthem was played first, I could not stand.
If the flag salute came first, I could stand and not salute. If AFTERWARD, they played the national anthem, I could remain standing since I was already.
These rules seem inconsistent and didn't make much sense to me. I couldn't back it up from the Bible. But I complied.
Earlier this year, I attended a college graduation where the national anthem was played. My then girlfriend (then wife) made me cover my heart during the national anthem. Truth be told, after all these years, it felt like an empty ritual and was pretty meaningless to me.
from their history, it is evident that jehovah's witnesses are just another doomsday cult.. cults are run by autocrats.
on purpose they are ideologically fixated and they demand that their devotees hold the same absolute certainty of belief without regard for evidence.
the suspension of critical thought is encouraged and by focussing on the objectives of the cult belief in a like minded community, it gives both a sense of direction within a sort of ‘family’ and a hope of paradise perfection.. the leaders have everything to gain by controlling their followers; all the income goes in their direction.. democracy has strictly no part in a running cult.
If I could wave a magic wand, disband for sure.
If disband means ban, then no. That would only strengthen the organization.

So true.
so i got a text from an elder who i consider one of the good guys and a friend in his own way.. he asked if he could bring the co by for a visit.
he said it would be "just a pleasant call and visit and will hopefully encourage my wife".
he says that "he knows she is dealing with a ton of pressure".. in all my years around the organization, i never had a visit from the circuit overseer.
What ShirleyW & DJS said.
When the CO comes to town, elders scramble to do what they haven't done in the last 6 months. And they also find "calls" to take the CO on.
If they insist on coming, if you know when, get out of the house for a few hours. The CO is too busy with so many matters and probably has bigger fish to fry.
well beards are still a no no!!!!!!.
in a new letter from the branch/gb nut's, beards are not acceptable in the us branch area!!!!!!.
my eldub brother in law, shared this today.
I'm not a bit surprised that the answer is no.
Anyone who read between the lines of the paragraph about beard should have come to that conclusion. It read, "It's okay", but meant, "Don't!"
wife read me the daily text this morning out of the blue this morning and a couple of sentences stuck out in my head.. all of jehovah’s promises are dynamic, not static, because he is constantly working toward their fulfillment.
(isa.
46:10; 55:11) once a person realizes this about jehovah’s word, what he reads in the bible can exert a powerful force in his life.. .
Underlying message: why aren’t YOU more dynamic? Get moving. Do more!
Question for the writer of this article: Why would something dynamic wait for a person’s realization before it exerts ‘a powerful force’. That doesn’t seem that dynamic.
that's a comment i heard from an elder i haven't seen in over a decade, yesterday.
i mentioned it all on my other thread.
i responded that i knew of no one that was crawling back to the meetings and gave him an incredulous hearty chuckle.
It could be that the ramping up of shunning, even on the inactive, might be having an effect of a few.
