Amazing Grace have been around since 1779, How Great Thou Art 1885,Holy Holy Holy 1826, Be Thou My Vision (Ireland) 6th century, All Creatures of God and King (Italy)1225. So you think one day we will hear a Kingdumb song playing over the radio. You would think surely Jehovah want the world to be familiar with his Hymns.... Maybe they have instructed the RF to only sing their songs in the KH, only for special folks.

No because before that day ever comes today's lyrics will be deemed Apostate!!

Also today's music will be suppressed to make way for tomorrow's Jehovah's Witnes wanna be published composers ( all men of course)

    I played under Vern Duncombe,

    Brilliant composer,

Wrote and/or arranged the entire song book up to the 1970s,

    Where is his work now,

I don't think that this is right,

    Why did this happen?

Because there's a new kid on the block,

    And the kids want new,

    They're bored,

The greatest highlights at conventions are the "new" releases,

Ray Franz talked about this policy in CofC

Even Uncle Freddie's books went by the wayside,

And it applies to song books as well

    :(

Thanks tepidpoultry: I checked the song composer Vern Duncombe (WTBS composer) and brought me back to here. Posted 12 years ago here "Song writers of the WTBS songs.

In those very few times I attended a memorial , I notices the tunes of some songs very familiar. Of course the words were different which confused me. I believe there are songs for the JW that use the tunes of "worldly" religious hymns.

I think it would be quite difficult to track down the oldest song,

Years ago I was trying to collect all the old songs/books from the old

timers as they died, old books as well,

The thing is, and I'm working from memory here, the first all original

JW Songbook was "Singing and Accompanying Yourselves With Music in

Your Hearts" released in the 60s

This released maybe 119 songs all at once,

This replaced the Society's previous practice of taking the music from

"Christendom's" hymns and adding their lyrics creating a Frankenstein effect,

What is particularly upsetting to me is taking out (TRASHING) songs like

119? forever "Keep Your Eyes On the Prize" Why not just update the lyrics a bit?

They engage in modern day book burning, destroying their own culture,

They must be very ashamed of it if they feel a need to destroy it so!

I'm more proud of this music than they are,

    And I think they're a cult! lol

PS one of these songs is "House to House" I believe it's gone(?) it was

written by Harold King WHILE HE WAS WAS IN SOLITARY CONFINEMENT

FOR FIVE YEARS IN RED CHINA, so what do these dipwads do?

    I would have immortalized it!!

I love how they treat the memory of these people (sarcasm)

The kingdumb maladies are so lousy that anyone making and trying to sell them would find no one buying any of them. And, if the whole music industry gets that lousy, I doubt people will even be buying anything at all. They will simply not pay for such rubbish. That might prompt people to buy songs from the 1950s through the 1990s instead. And, if those songs are no longer available because the music industry tries to purge people of those memories or are too worried about Satanism, people will go back to making their own music the way they used to before recording became possible.

And, if it gets so bad that even that is impossible, it will be because the whole human race is enslaved. In that event, I don't think anyone will have the time or money to buy any music at all, and I doubt music will even be part of that dog-slave lifestyle. Hence, no kingdumb maladies.
