guilt is such a wonderful tool used by the jehovah’s witnesses.
one of the terms they love to use is the term “blood guilty.” they have actually used this term to guilt their members into doing more and more “house to house activity” yes, they have said on numerous occasions at their kingdom halls and other major gathering that a person “could be blood guilty” for not going out in the field service activity enough.
the reason is simple.

a circuit overseer or a member of the gibbering body is giving a talk about demonism and he says the following, "there was an elder in a congregation in california who let his 8-year-old daughter watch disney movies that involved witches, gremlins, magic, and sorcery.
many may feel that they are harmless movies and are just entertainment.
well, the 8-year-old daughter actually brought a blue smurf doll to the public talk and watchtower study.
I was about 9 or 10 when the Smurf sensationalism was going around. Did anyone else here about Witness babies being found dead in their cribs, covered in bruises, surround by Smurf toys or wallpaper? That story went around my congregation.
i wanted to take a moment to thank everyone who has posted here as i have been reading all of them.
i have realized that i am not alone in my struggles and the realization that the " truth" is a bunch of crap.
i have been over come with emotion over the last years or so.
I have been completely out and awake since 2010. It's the best life ever! Hang in there!
i was shunned in high school.. did i do something inappropriate?
nope, i was the perfect jehovah’s witness child.
i was guilty by association.
Interesting that you bring up being shunned because of your parents.
Myself and my siblings experienced the very same. I was a Ministerial Servant with every privilege allowed to that position. However, because of who my father is, no sister in the 3 congregations in our city would ever consider getting involved with me.
My best friend married my sister. His parents were hysterical over this. "I can't believe you're marrying into that family!"
when i was a jw and still living with my parents i remember the way my father held what could almost be described as contempt for archeologists, paleontologists, and other scientists who dared to try explain what happened in past.
he justified this attidtude with the argument that these people don’t have enough evidence to make such claims with any certainty.
however, i see now that his viewpoint was more likely a defense mechanism to protect his presupposed conclusion that everything described in the bible actually happened.
So much of the judeo-christian belief system, but especially the beliefs of Jehovah's Witnesses are based on Ad Hoc arguments. The bottom line with them is - "You just have to have faith."
I found the true definition of "faith" being - Accepting something to be factual without any evidence or proof.
When Witnesses condemn one of their own as being "weak in the faith" what they are actually saying is that the individual requires too much evidence to act the way the organization expects them too. In short, if a Witness were truly faithful they would be acting like Armageddon is coming tomorrow.
on rotten tomatoes, apostasy has 100% success from critics (very rarely that critics are unanimous in their approval of a film) and 97% from the audience.
i have loved reading the reviews as they are almost all ex jw's but there is one glaring review that is almost certainly from one active jw who is pleading that the film be banned, even though they haven't actually seen it (typical) and it made me laugh:.

Looks like "Silas T" made an account to just put a negative review on this film.
had a warning talk on chat rooms last night.
not sure if they are really that big of a deal with jws.
i have a been to a few and have talked with a few sisters actually.
A Kingdom Ministry back in 1999 warned against JW sites/chatrooms. I remember many who frequented a JW site and the IRL chatrooms went as far as cancelling their internet subscriptions.
when c.t.russell first printed his magazine it was called "zions watchtower and herald of christs presence" was it not ?.
so obviously he was concerned about witnessing about jesus and announcing his kingdom to all who would listen and read his magazine.it was jesus and his kingdom that he was witnessing about ,and of course those who followed him ,would have done and did the same.. their are over 20 scriptures in the christian greek scriptures telling christians to witness for and about jesus.
and that was in harmony with what the new testament ( the christian greek scriptures ) is all about ,witnessing to,for, and about jesus christ.. their is not one scripture in the new testament ,the christian greek scriptures that says or even indicates that christians .
This was purely a business move.
With the death of Russell, there was a power struggle over who would take over the corporation and the religious sect. 3 separate religious organizations emerged, but it was Rutherford who took over the corporation.
Rutherford wanted it to be blatantly clear which sect was over the corporation. Rutherford adopted numerous doctrines and the name "Jehovah's Witnesses" to be sure the public knew the were separate from everyone else. All the prohibitions on holidays, military service, abstaining from blood, etc. are results of this policy of separation.
Greatness!
i am watching a tv show that highlights area restaurants and pizza is the subject.
.
what is your favorite style and type of pizza?.
I won't lie - I am a pizza snob.
Crusts; thin crust is my favorite. I also enjoy New York Style and Chicago deep dish. BJ's Brewhouse has a wonderful deep dish crust that must have sourdough or beer in the dough mix.
Sauce; a tangy, thick pizza sauce is a must. The more the better. Also, a chunky Chicago style sauce is excellent. I am not into non-tomato based sauces.
Cheese; real, high quality mozzarella is a must. Shaved Parmesan is also a must.
Toppings; Breakfast bacon is my favorite followed by real Italian sausage. I do not like the cheap sausage kibble. I also recently discovered Italian meatball as a great topping. Pepperoni is a must for NY style. Follow that with green olives, mushrooms (not the dried out ones), and fresh minced garlic.
