"The God of the Old Testament is arguably the most unpleasant character...
by digderidoo in...in all fiction:jealous and proud of it; petty, unjust, unforgiving, control freak; a vindictive, bloodthirsty, ethnic cleanser; a misogynistic, homophobic, racist, infanticidal, genocidal, filicidal, pestilential, megalomaniacal, sadomasochistic, capriciously malevent bully.
", says richard dawkins in the god delusion p51.
he goes on to say, "those of us schooled from infancy in his ways can become desensitized to their horror".. would you agree?.

a stone seal bearing the name of one of the families who acted as servants in the first temple and then returned to jerusalem after being exiled to babylonia has been uncovered in an archeological excavation in jerusalem's city of david, a prominent israeli archeologist said wednesday.
the 2,500-year-old black stone seal, which has the name "temech" engraved on it, was found earlier this week amid stratified debris in the excavation under way just outside the old city walls near the dung gate, said archeologist dr. eilat mazar, who is leading the dig.

studies in the scripture
by candidlynuts ini've been reading some of the old jw books that are available on google books.. this has probably been shown before but i just seen it and thought i'd share.. .
this is pages 7 and 8 of studies in the scriptures volume 1.. i think anyone who is working towards baptism as a jw should have to read these older texts..just so they can recognize.
centuries of education supression and focus on sales.

The difficulty of recovering from JW teachings
by DT init's difficult to free yourself from years of cult influence.
i'm concerned that i may still be suffering from hidden assumptions that i haven't considered.
i'll have to examine my thinking for the rest of my life, but that's not necessarily a bad thing.. it would be easier if we could reject everything we were taught, but that's not really possible.
