How many decades/centuries before 1914 becomes irrelevant?
by jwfacts inhow long do you think the watchtower can speak about 1914 and have followers think it relevant?
i think for people born in the 1900's, it feels like an acceptable year.
but what about those born since 2000, will 1914 seem like a year of relevance?

My husband deleted me as a friend on FaceBook
by cognac inafter this whole thing with him talking to this other girl on fb, now he deleted me as a friend.
i have his username and password.
it's like, he doesn't want this marriage to work at all.. i don't even have it in me to argue with him.

Also I would add that the reason that this is all being run through the WTBTS is due to the perceived value that the Borg has on its brand, so much that they allow children to continue to be abused. Thanks for exposing their faulty criminal reasonings and also bringing to light their sins, exactly what they did not want to happen.

Why has the WT not tried to shut down this board?
by hamsterbait inwe all know that beth hell monitors this site.. they have repeatedly had sites shut down for quoting large portions of their litterature.
not this one.. do you think this board enables them to keep a finger on the pulse of what is going on in ex and aposto land?

If the WTBTS COULD shut down these boards but do not, what would be the reason?
I'm thinking that the ability to get an account here and post some CRAZY APOSATE rhetoric would almost play into the Apostate description that the WTBTS has told it's members to expect if you go on these sites.
Some of these members come naturally and I beleive are not a "mole" but I think that it would not be too far fetched to "create" some members that ACT like they are mentally diseased. I mean this IS WAR right and if I were the WTBTS I would do what ever I could to scare away any members that might be lurking in these sites. If I were newly out and dropped into a site like this one and others and saw some of the things written my a few members I might stick my tail between my legs and run back into the Organizatio. Why would they NOT do this as they would be thinking that they would be helping their fellow brother. They create the phobias, why not fullfil them also.
I say create a forum for "Thinking Out of the Box" threads that only seasoned members can have access to until the lurkers get a chance to see some validity of the post of some of the more balanced members.

What are the best questions to ask an elder?
by DarkFireWolf inso my parents cannot answer my question and are pretty much pushing me to go to the elders for an answer so i'd like to know what the best questions to ask an elder are.my first question is going to be the mediator one..and if he tells me it's the 144,000 or the anointed, i'll ask him to show me where it says that in the bible.what are some other tough questions for an elder to answer?assuming we can get past the mediator one of course.i'm going to hold off on asking about new light or 607... also, has anyone ever asked about how satan can cause wwi in july if he wasn't expelled from heaven until christ became king in october?i haven't gotten much of an answer to that either..

I can give you the answer to the latter question. Not that I believe it, but if I DID believe it I would say that "Satan the devil was not prevented
from going back and forth from Heaven to Earth UNTIL 1914, before that he could travel between the 2 without any restrictions. As shown when he talked to Jehovah with the matter of Job in Heaven and also was upon the Earth tempting Jesus. So he was able to start the war prior to October since he could have been on the Earth the entire time. In 1914 he was cast down to the Earth and prevented from going back to Heaven"
Is there something wrong with this reasoning?

Sacrifice one for the sake of many, all they need to do is to be able to justify that it is okay for the masses.
I believe that it has been said that the WTBTS might use this and other sites as a "barometer" to see what troubles the JWs to know what should be
covered in the Watchtower in the future. For instance if they see new members coming here and discussing the disbelief in the new definition of "generation" then it would be in their best interest to write more articles and get out the "caulking gun" to try to plug the hole to prevent more from leaving.
I mean if WE could get some device to be able to listen in on the GB meeting we would do it, right? I believe that the GB and the WTBTS in general views these sites and the biggest hole they have to contend with and if they can 'listen in" on what we are saying, doing, planning etc they have a leg up on the pulse of the ones leaving.
So I think that this might be the reason that they do not attack this site vs some of the ones that are more of a "one way" information sharing. I mena, that's what I would do if I were them.

Someone speculated that the WTBTS hires worldy non JWs to review this site and others like youtube etc and do the dirty work explaining how they can have these sites shut down without worrying that a JW reads it.

Anyone Else See Les Miserables?
by BizzyBee ini went to see it today - by myself (mr bee is on a golf junket).
i was glad that that i was by myself because i cried so much at the end, i wouldn't have wanted to be with anyone who wasn't crying - and that would not have been mr bee!.
les miserables the current film is adapted from what is considered one of the half-dozen greatest novels of the past 150 years and one of the longest novels ever written.

No I like the one with Liam Neeson and prefer my music to not snap me back into the reality that I was just invlolved in watching a movie. I mean did people back then just break out into a song?
