has anybody on the forum ever had a hysterectomy?
i am getting one this winter.
i am scared shitless.
Hi Robyn,
Yes, I had one in 2001 at the age of 36. Immediately after, my Doctor placed me on Estratest. I didn't have any problems with hot flashes or desire, but did have some problems with my heart feeling like it was racing, breathlessness and insomnia. They seemed to feel those symptoms (after ruling out other significant medical problems) were a result of the surgery and my body just adjusting.
I was later put on Estratest H.S. (half-strength) which we found did the job for me with less of the hormones.
I chose to have the hysterectomy because of my family history with Ovarian and Breast Cancer. (MY mom was diagnosed with Ovarian Cancer at the young age of 42 and she lived until she was 48.) It was a Laparoscopy Assisted Vaginal Hysterectomy and it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be.

today my daughter is ten years cancer free.
of course, much of that is owed to the tranfusions of blood products.
products that i did not hesitate to have given to her.. with so much going on in my life (recent death in the family), this board, and just the general rush of life, this very important day nearly got by me.
((((((Andee))))))
Thanks for sharing that awesome story with us-it surely does brighten the place up around here!

i just skimmmed over a lot of angry posts (see all the flames listed below) and i'm in the mood for a little fluff.. what did you have for dinner?
any good recipes to share?
anything nice to say at all?.
Hubby cooked tonight-he brought home a pizza! I like what everyone else had, though!

now that you know about the truth of the blood doctrine, would you feel, even a little bit uncomfortable agreeing to take a blood transfusion?
btw, my mother asked me if i would still honor her wishes for refusal of blood.
i told her that even though my view has changed, i would respect her decision, even if i felt that it was wrong.
Like Swan, I would be nervous, but if that is what my doctors said would save my life, I'd do it. I am also registered as an organ donor.
My MIL recently went through Triple Bypass and nearly died as a result of blood clots-oddly enough she was the very rare person that has an allergy to Heparin which caused her to have multiple blood clots one of them bouncing around in the chambers of her heart (something like that) anyways she definetely needed transfusions. The alternative blood thinner they used was a new one made from the spit of leeches!
You know, I got to thinking who the heck knows all that we human's ingest whether it be through food, drink, vaccines or cute little pills?!

there was talk the other day of "modern day apostates" which made me think back to the pre-internet days at conventions where we used to get leaflets sprung on us by what i then presumed to be apostates.
who are the apostates of the 80s and 90s who used to spring leaflets on us?
are they now on the net with us modern day apostates?
Good thoughts Ballistic, I was pondering the very same the past few days. I can recall being at a study and seeing a newspaper article where some "Apostates" were protesting at a District Convention. I can recall feeling as if they were "evil" people. Now, I think about how nice it is to be able to come to this place and find support, to find "family." I want to say thank you to you. Englishman, and all the rest who paved the way!
Does anyone have any idea how many "apostates" there might be worldwide?

do you think the opinion from the slave is a little strong in one direction..........nah!
questions from readers wt, 1960 july 15
UnDisfellowshipped, it's ok, I was having a "feeling-sorry-for-self" moment.
Golden Girl,
When I first read that info, I was like you-didn't know whether to laugh or get angry!
But, isn't it amazing that through the years their attitudes went along with what was acceptable with society at the time. But, later on their attitude was one of superiority, as if they have always been the leaders in the race-relations business, meanwhile putting down Christendom for their past viewpoints, predjudices and stere-types?!!
Now, I must say that I am bi-racial and the fact that they were so accepting of all races (or at least portrayed themselves as such) was a big drawing card for me when I was a pre-teen and beginning to really notice predjudice. To now read some of this stuff sickens me-not so much the attitudes they had, but the fact that they didn't acknowledge they had made mistakes and they didn't apologize for their past policies (at least not that I have read.) It's just "new-light."
Anyways, I loved hearing about your courage to do the right thing in the face of so much racism.
