I was spiritual before becoming a JW and I'm spiritual after leaving them.
I think to a certain degree JWs lose their spirituality because everything they do is physical and not spiritual.
Everything is done to try to earn points with God.

Describe Your Spirituality
by minimus inmost witnesses believe that if you leave the "truth" as taught by jehovah's witnesses, you lose your spirituality.
i know some here that do not believe in god.
others are somewhat agnostic.

attention lost sheep.
by MOLHIE-NIGG inoh dear you people are really filled with hate, the jws are "evil" are they?.
i think evil is a bit over the top dont you, jahs people may be many things but noy quite that i am afraid, how about loving, compasionate, caring and steadfast in their belief of the truth?..
is it any wonder jws are warned and understandably cautious of you when statements like these abound, lets expose them you cry and then wonder why they view sites like this as part of satans body.

I think Molhie was just here to pull our leg.
"Now let me check my stocks theres a war coming and they should be on their way up."
I believe this is in reference to Ran-Cam. Or whatever it's called.

"Memoral time kids...... anyone going?"
Not me.
I always felt that there was something wrong with the way the WTS does the Memorial.
Sure, they talk about the ransom, the death of Jesus, but there was always something missing.
It turned into a 'Let's look around the KH to see if anyone is partaking of the emblems.'
It seemed like there was more emphasis being put on who should and shouldn't take the emblems than what the ocasion realy stood for.
It seemed like they were almost worried that someone in attendance might actually partake.
I won't go because I don't agree with the WTS version of it.

The Reinstatement Process & How It Works
by minimus inpreviously, we considered what might go on at a judicial meeting.now, let's see what the reinstatement process entails.
let's use the example of fornication.
you have been disfellowshipped for this sin and now you want to seek reinstatement.

Jehovah's Witnesses can now VOTE!
by UnDisfellowshipped injehovah's witnesses were raped and tortured by the thousands in malawi because they obeyed the watchtower society's rules, and they broke caesar's law and refused to purchase a political card in a country that only had one polictical party.
now (since 1999), jehovah's witnesses are allowed to vote in political elections!
i would love to hear everyone's comments.

" I am more angry at myself for going along with this hogwash. I must have been brain-dead at the time."
Rebel,
Don't be too hard on yourself.
We ALL fell for it hook line and sinker.
That's the problem with following any man made orginization.
We give up our thinking ability and blindly follow.
Good thing is we are out of it now and we can warn others of the dangers of blindly following the WTS.
Gods orginization, my foot.

You know, now that I think about it, I was a pretty damned nice Witness
by berylblue ina hell of a lot nicer than anyone else i knew.. and i'm only writing this because it's not really immodest because you don't know who i am.. i never went to the kh without some homebaked cake or cookies for the elderly ones, or a small gift for someone, or some cards telling someone how much i appreciated them.
the more i disliked a person, the harder i would try to befriend them.
usually, the reason i disliked them went away (not!

Hi berylblue. "A hell of a lot nicer than anyone else I knew" Yes. There were alot of very nice JWS. But to the WTS, Is it more important to be nice and loving, or going out in field service distributing worthless magazines? neyank

JW bashing
by Dawn ini have see a few posts on here lately from individuals asking why there there is so much jw bashing on this site.
to you who asked - here's the answer.. when an individual has a traumatic experience this puts an imprint on their sub-conscious and conscous mind (so to speak) - it is a wound and it is painful.
external wounds are healed by covering them and protecting them - however, internal wounds like rejection, fear, etc do not heal by being supressed.

Is it really bashing when discussing events that hapened? Personally, I don't find bashing to be the apropriate word when discussing the WTS. Sure there are some with hard feelings towards the org. And of course those hard feelings are warented considering how the WTS treats people. This is a board filled with people that have had 1st hand experience dealing with the WTS. So if they choose to discuss their experiences, I wouln't necisarilly call it bashing. And don't forget. The WTS does nothing but BASH every religion out there. Saying they are all doomed to distruction. ect........ To shed light on an orginization that pretends they have some sort of truth is not bashing. It is called giving information. neyank

Why did you get out of JW?
by WorldsEyeView inwhy did all of you guys get out?.
i have a friend who is a jw, and i don't think she is right at all.
do you guys have any convincing arguments on why jw is wrong?
-
neyank
Why did all of you guys get out? When you find that what is taught and believed to be true and then find that it's not A choice has to be made. Do you stay in and pretend to not know what the truth is about the WTS or do you leave it? I left it. I could not stay and listen to their teachings. (which constantly change) I could not go out in field service teaching the teachings that I knew to be false. neyank

I think one of the main problems with exiting a cult is admiting to yourself that you were involved with one.
No one wants to think of themselves as gulible, nieve, stupid, ect....
I'm sure we all (ex JWs) would like to think that we joined the WTS because we researched what they taught and found that they taught the'truth'.
But of course we eventually found out just the oposite.
That they didn't have the 'truth'.The similarities between the cults is amazing.
They all follow the same patern.
The WTS is a cult just like the others.

I saw Gladiator a couple of times.
Excelent movie. Russell Crow is a good actor.
However, I grew up watching the diferent gladiator type movies.
With Kirk Douglas and other top name actors.
The old ones in my opinion are just as good.
Problem is, they're in black and white.
