Dinosaurs in Paradise

i'm so thankful for sites such as this.

i realise it's our imperfection but god's organization is not always open to 'outside the box' thinkers such as ourselves.

i've been researching dinosaurs and god's reason for not preserving these beasts beyond the flood of noah's day.

Education is an investment in money and time. I have seen many people saddled with student debt and no marketable skills. A person should make decisions related to education just like any other life decision. One should always consider the cost/benefit of the decision.

Education is just like any other investment. You need to be a smart consumer. It is easy to discount the value of education by showing examples from people that did not make good decisions.

However, be sure of this fact: A good education is a critical factor in a person's success.

What the Watchtower is doing is shameful. Fortunately, I did not follow the advice, but I know of many who did.

Professions in the Paradise

we know there will be no money in paradise.

but there will almost certainly be jobs to do.

we will be perfect at our jobs but that doesn't mean we will be perfect at every job.

We know there will be no money in paradise.

How do we know that? I must have missed the Wt.on speculation. I have always questioned the economic structure of the paradise. In fact, this was one of the many ah-ha moments of the insanity of the fairytale of the JW earthly paradise.

So my PIMO Younger Brother Tried To Kill Himself Today

we all know that this cult will drive those trying to leave to desperate measures, and today by brother was very nearly one of those statistics.

he slashed his thigh with a kitchen knife and was bleeding out until he called the police.. i got a call on my way home from work from a police officer, coincidentally it was one of my old friends from school who's now a cop.

he told me my brother is in hospital after an attempted suicide and has lost some blood but will be ok. but i should get to the hospital as he's asking for me.

A very interesting conversation with my father today.

decide for your selves.. dad : joe if ever i need an operation i've told them i don't want blood.

not a drop.. joe : well what about blood fractions.

here's a hypothetical: you find your elderly jw father - a lifelong witness, unconscious in his home - you are alone with him.

you ring an ambulance.

at the hospital the doc says they need to give him a blood transfusion straight away or he'll die.

I have a real situation - similar but with a few additional details.

At an end of life situation, after my father had kidney dialysis for a few weeks, it was clear that my father's blood count was at a level where he would require a blood transfusion. He was not in a position to make his own medical decisions, Thus, I initiated a no-blood decision.

I did not see how blood would extend his life. From my position, I thought my decision was the right thing to do. He died shortly after, but not because of my decision to support his no-blood stance.
