If you believe that your earthly life is a prelude to something greater, this seems quite logical. On a related topic, I seem to recall a thread on this site that an elder body attempted to disfellowship a dead person.
Anyone else recalls this?
why the big controversy over baptizing the dead, they are dead folks..i know it's a quirky practice but jewish leaders are up in arms because the lds leaders are baptizing holocaust victims..what harm is it??
?hell jw's are preaching everyone will go up in flames no one believe that crap except jw but no one is up in arms, they know they walk a different step....the lds leaders agreed to halt baptisms specifically of jews holocaust victims in 2010 but they are at it again, baptizing jews.
this is funny as hell to me.

who are more gullible, believers in santa or the ones in "the serpent"?
an old man that delivers gifts?
quite possible, grandpa does it all the time!
Never believed in Santa; was not allowed to. Always told that Santa is simply Satan with the last two letters switched. Just another evil plot.
In regards to the snake, yeah, I believed, I am sorry to say. Although I am old enough to have believed that, at the time, the snake had legs.
fyi.
the guardian, tuesday 4 april 2017. jehovah’s witnesses congregation's efforts to block inquiry squashed.
tribunal rejects claim investigation into charity’s handling of sexual abuse allegations amounts to religious discrimination.
Satan at work again. We must be very near the end of this wicked old system.
some quick background information: my dad (her firstborn son) died unexpectedly this past october.
his death has really hit our family hard.
personally, i have not totally come to terms with this.
You present a sad situation. Learning theTATT is the easy part. It gets increasing difficult, as a person gets older, to make life changes to get beyond the Watchtower. I can't imagine what a 90-year-old might do to regain her life.
today at the service group the elder leading couldn't figure out which was which.
he was trying to convince us that the memorial was at the new moon.
.
Maybe he received his university education by reading the Awake!
last night i had jw broadcasting on in the background while i was working, i like to keep up to date with their crap.
which is strange because when i actually was a jw i hated reading or watching their material.. anyway, on the streaming section, anthony morris comes on screen telling me that higher education is bad and "the better the university, the greater the danger".
i never would have believed it if i hadn't seen him say it myself.
I wonder if he was talking about my family. That would be cool!
one young person went to university and not only left "the truth" but his parents divorced!
"what man among you with 100 sheep, on losing one of them, will not leave the 99 behind in the wilderness and go after the lost one until he finds it?
" - luke 15:4. disclaimer: by posting the following observations i am not complaining.
i am happy to be left alone.
Out of sight out of mind. You have been long forgotten.
with so many aging bethelites being "laid off" after years of volunteer service, what hope do they have of collecting any social security retirement?
i ask because i recently learned that my mother will not receive any government retirement benefits because she did not work enough to collect the 40 credits required.
this got me to thinking about bethel volunteers.
Thank you for your information. I recall hearing (from a highly unreliable source) that the Watchtower paid a minimum to SSI for Bethelites. It would be interesting to hear from others. Just to clarify, you had no other income from anyone else?
the study was on how wt has refined itself over the years by ceasing celebrations of christmas etc.. paragraph 11.
11 what a fine example those faithful bible students set for us!
reflecting on their example, we do well to ask ourselves: ‘how do i view the direction we receive from headquarters?
They are probably trying new terms since they can no longer use "Brooklyn." Eventually, one name will stick. If they want to go with "headquarters" chances are they will end up with "HQ."
lately my mom's gotten into all kinds of weird "power of positive thinking" kind of stuff.
she watches "the secret" and bob proctor videos all the time, and now she's trying to get me into it.
to me her being into this sort of thing seems kind of hypocritical.
I am a strong believer in setting positive goals. I believe that goal setting is critical to a person's success.
I have also listed to tapes and read books from a few of the gurus on the topics. I especially like Brian Tracy. To help me get out of the deep depression as I was leaving the organization, I found his message of goal setting and positive thinking very helpful.
That being said, there is a limit. Just like anything else the message can turn very cult-like.
