Any discussion of 1914 is silly. If there was a justification for this date in the past, it is hard to extract meaning given that we are many generations beyond the date. Let's move on.

PUT YOUR THINKING CAPS ON...AGAIN! (Zeb's thread regarding 1914)
by redpilltwice in23 days ago, zeb posted this familiar but ever intriguing thread regarding 1914, the mother of all topics.. put youir [sic] thinking caps on.zeb 23 days ago this was sent to me from doug shields blog.
for those who like stats and numbers may find this of interest.1914 – recognizing the ”the elephant in the room”.
the problem with the date ”1914 ad” lays with the two calendars that are involved – jewish and gregorian.

Do JWs Regard You As An APOSTATE?
by minimus ini doubt people consider me an apostate but you never know.🤓.

I am not disfellowshipped or disassociated. I am forgotten. I was never worth the effort to be pursued by my enemies.
In any event, I consider myself a proud apostate.

I learned the value of Brooklyn Heights' real estate. Purchase an apartment on Columbia Heights sold it several years later. Best investment ever.

Lack Of Education Leads To Lost Dreams And Low Income For Many Jehovah's Witnesses

Thank you for posting. This should be talked about as much as possible. The no-education policy is the moral equivalent of keeping your woman "barefoot and pregnant."
No education severely limits a person's options if they consider leaving. In addition, a witness never learns the critical thinking skills necessary to understand TTATT.

Has anyone else seen this video on JW Broadcasting?
by NikL inso i was checking out the website to see what the february broadcast was all about before i watched it with my jw wife.. on the front page was this video.... https://tv.jw.org/#en/video/vodbible/pub-jwbai_201607_1_video.
i watched it and pretended i had never been a jw.. if you pretend you don't understand their particular language it makes for a interesting (if not vague) watch.. btw i've seen several of the actors before.
jw version of movie stars?

I cannot believe I watched the whole 6 minute video without throwing up.You did better than me, I only got through the first 5 minutes when I had to make a decision, turn it off or throw-up. I couldn't watch any more.

What have been some of the funniest local needs talks that you have heard?
by DaPriest ini remember once in berlin south germany there was a local needs part for the men only, and how they should use the toilet.
in all seriousness for ten minutes a retarded nigerian was going on about how men need to sit down when using the toilet.
no mention of anything else.. it transpired that some little kraut boy from an "interested" family would aim for the side of the toilet and leave a great big puddle for others to clean up.

While in the process of fading we moved to a new state and attended a new hall. It was a struggle to get to the hall on time, so we came in late and sat in the library not to cause a disruption.
The first local needs part was about coming in late and sitting in the library. That was never a problem again because I did not go back to the hall. Thanks for the great welcome a##hole.

Why do you get upset about family shunning you?
by mr_doubtful ini understand people love their family but i also don't understand why you end up caring in the end.
i'm ready to leave and i 100% don't expecting my family to have any contact with me nor do i want them to contact me.
if they are going to chose a man made religion over me, that's their choice and i will sleep easy at night.

My parents passed away prior to me learning the TATT and my brother left years before I abandoned the Borg. Even as a JW, I was never close to the remaining JW aunts. So, my experience is not similar to others.
But, shunning from the immediate family is a big deal. It is a shameful activity.
