im listening to moody blues right now, remembering a concert i went to of theirs in the early 90's when i lived in missouri.
it was by far the best concert i even have been to....they are not my favorite group but i do like them.
i wish i could bottle that night up and bring it out to play again and again.
Several Neil Diamond concerts. We had a couple in our KH who owned a music store and sold concert tickets. They always got us front row seats. Great shows!!
Last year we saw The Brothers Cazimero, from Hawaii. Really good show, but not on the level of Neil Diamond.
We've also seen The Platters, Coasters and Drifters in Las Vegas three times. Not the original groups, but a great show, and they sound just as good as the originals. Now, that really dated me didn't it?

I don't recommend it but I got married at 17 and my husband was 19. 45 years later, we are still together, happy and successful. I can't imagine my life with anyone else. We have 4 wonderful adult children, all married and happy. 9 grandchildren. Our only daughter married at 18, but to a man 27, They've been married nearly 20 years. Our sons all married in their 20's, one was 31 actually.
It can work, but I admit it usually doesn't.

Bad flooding here already today. The rain is unbelievable since last night. It is coming down like a bathroom shower. I went out on some errands today and had to reroute myself twice because of standing water in the roads............too deep to drive through. Storm drains are full of Autumn leaves so are clogged and they are spilling onto the roads.
Several schools have been cancelled and parents are told to come for their children. Mudslides everywhere. Rivers are cresting. Retention ponds and reservoirs are spilling over in residential areas so people are being evacuated. We live on high ground, but when it's this wet, we have had soggy basement situations. Have to keep an eye on the interior walls down there. There are three walls below dirt level and the water just might seep in.
It's pretty bad and now the winds are predicted and lots of power outages.

i have been disfellowshipped for 2 months now and i feel so alone.i took the red pill and reality has hit me smack in the mouth.
i go through all types of emotions - stronger than i've ever felt before e.g anger,sadness,elation,freedom,feeling super strong,feeling super weak etc.
You are still very young, althought I'm sure you don't think so. I was 50 when we left! We had raised our children in the JW's, and I was raised in it. Nearly our entire family were active witnesses. Not now!!
Be patient with people and especially with yourself. It's a grieving process and you go through all the stages as if a major death had affected you. This forum will help immensly. It was my therapy.
Try to meet some other ex JW's and make new friends. That is a major thing.
we're in the middle of a little windstorm here (portland, or).
not much of one, really, compared to some of the others i've experienced here.. about 11 p.m. bikerchic and i heard something hit the house, and there was a pretty good thud on the ground.
i thought that it was probably just a big branch, but bikerchic came running in and said: "did you hear that?
In January 1993 (inauguration day actually), we had one of those big windstorms that blew many shingles off of our original 1962 roof, and cut the electricity for several days. The insurance company sent some guys out to patch the roof, but when the adjuster came a couple of weeks later to see if we were satisfied, I told him I thought we needed a new roof. He went onto the roof and came back to the door with a check for nearly $7000. He agreed with me! Of course I got it done for less than half of that amount. Very cool!
In about 2000, another windstorm blew over our heavily repaired fence, which was old when we moved here in 1979. Once again, the insurance company came out and I asked for a new fence. They agreed. I couldn't believe it, because I was really only kidding. But, I didn't argue. We got a nice new fence.
So, Craig and Kate, don't be afraid to ask for the moon............you just might get it.

A dinner place where they have music. A Play House and Dinner. If she likes to dance, take her dancing and Dinner.

Dave always has the same problem with buying a gift for me, despite my dropping hints for months about things I would like to have. He never picks up on the hints. My daughter in law clued me into a website where you enter things you want. I signed up (free) and she says she is telling him what's on my list. www.thethingsiwant.com
this week a 14 year old jw named dennis lindberg died because he refused blood transfusions which were part of his treatment for leukemia.. this has garnered some unwanted attention on jws from the seattle news media.. there are two of these programs available for download:.

I only listened to Thursdays, but it was really good. Ken Schram really did his homework. I loved his list of beliefs that he got the one man to agree were true. It made them sound so silly. Ken is a well-known and highly respected newsman in Seattle, and I listen to him all the time. I am so glad you got this recording. I missed it.
One other thing is that it would be nice if JWs would state which is true....accepting a blood transufusion is against thier faith, or that accepting a blood transfusion is not going against ther faith, but is a conscience decision. Seems the JWs who phoned in are not in "unity" as JWs calim to be.
I agree completely, but I think it demonstrates how little about their religion many JW's actually know. To say taking a blood transfusion is a conscience issue is so ignorant, to me, that it defies any other explanation. And the guy kept insisting he was right.

one of the "sisters" told the group that she had spoken to (dave h*********) one of the bigwigs in this area, about the report.
he told her he had been to monroe prison, nearby, and asked about the pedophiles there and if any of them were jw's.
field service would have been no fun at all, this week, with the fallout from the NBC report, and the teenager that died after refusing blood, in this area. .................so glad I am done with that crap.

first and foremost, it's very gratifying to know that your hubby is on the heal from his recently diagnosed cancer.
i could hear him in the background, and he certainly sounded like he was in good spirits (even if he is a bit of a raspy old fellow lol).
