How should I report zero hours for November?
by OnTheWayOut inthis was my topic november 3rd;.
for the first time in my jw history, i turned in a slip with a big zero written in every column,.
turned it over and wrote "zero tracts" below that, i wrote "stumbled by the co".

When I stopped reporting, I just stopped turning in a slip. After three months, I turned one in for all three months, with one hour, and no placements. I did that a few times and then just quit reporting ever. No one ever called me to find out why, and this is just a couple of years after I stopped pioneering.
One of our friends turned in a slip that said, "Jehovah knows".

I would have been laughing too. That's funny.
Insurance adjuster came to look at our car today...............we went into a ditch on Sunday during the second wave of the Sunday snowstorm. He said it's the busiest they have been in 10 years and the main office sent "disaster relief" teams to help with all the claims.
He left me with a nice fat check (Made out to the Toyota place and to me, to get it fixed). Our deductible was only $250 so it was well worth it to file the claim. He said they are happy to pay these claims since, no one was hurt, and we didn't damage anyone else's property. Just our car.

Apology to all
by wozadummy inthis is an apology to all for my recent posts, i did'nt mean to upset anyone .
just coping with leaving the org ,and the past ,and trying to support my wife who, as some know from my prevoius posts has tried to deal with her pedophile elder(past) father for many years now thru the org ,and then being badly treated by them and her large extended family (most are witnesses and are trying to silence her), made me hit rock bottom.
we are now taking action via the police and court system and she is barely coping ,and me being bi-polar does'nt help matters much and i fell into to an unreal state for a while as we don't have much support of any kind.

I haven't read your other posts but glad you are getting some help.
I am not bipolar but know lots of people who are, so understand your ups and downs.
Recovering after leaving the WTS is an uphill battle, with lots of range of emotion. Be patient with yourself, and we will try to be patient with you too.

I put my dear old dog to sleep
by Jez inafter 2 months of old age and illness, 2 cancelled vet appts, hoping he would get better, tears, frustration, watching him not eat, throwing up, becoming skin and bones, justifying keeping him, i stuck to this morning's appointment.. he was with me for the last 12 years of my life and his life has been entwined in so many of the memories i have.. to tell you about him, would be an essay.
i just want everyone to know that he was so close to me.
in the end, i kissed him on his head, said, "good boy, you're a good boy" and he laid his head on my hands and went to sleep.. i love you and will miss your crazy dog ways.

We had to do the same thing to our 17 year old Shepherd-Husky dog. She was a real companion, to our youngest boy from the age of 9 (he is now 27) and a faithful friend to the whole family. But it was time. She was blind and had hip displasia. The vet thought she also had a kidney disease and she had a big tumor on her back.
I feel for you. We grieve for all our faithful friends when they die.

A reminder on Shunning family members again in the January 15th Watchtower!
by Gill injanuary 15th watchtower 2007 'remaining steadfast when a child rebels'.
'when discipline is severe'.
'if your child is unrepentant and is a baptized christian, he may receive the strongest form of discipline - being disfellowhipped from the congregation.

'Quite mixing in company with anyone called a brother that is a fornicator or a greedy person or an idolator or a reviler or a drunkard or an extortioner, not even eating with such a man.'
What if you haven't done any of those things? What if all you did was disagree with their teachings??? I've said that to my mother and she absolutely agrees.
It is a shopping cart religion, or some say cafeteria religion.............you pick and choose what you like and don't take what you don't.

Faders: Would you prefer attention from the elders or not?
by ringo5 inthis question may produce some flaming, but so be it.
i've noticed many are freaked out, annoyed, worried, or simply felt harrassed when faced with the prospect of a visit from the elders when trying to fade.
others, or at times the same ones, complain that they recieved no inquiry from them at all or very little.

After all this time, (almost 10 years) I would have serious concerns about their motives. We are not disfellowshipped or disassociated, but we are shunned.
At first I couldn't understand why they NEVER........... EVER came to see us, or ask what happened. The last visit we had was probably about 3 or 4 years ago and they knew at that time, that we were not likely coming back. We didn't answer their direct questions about our beliefs or activites. (We answered their questions with questions, and they didn't seem to notice that we were shifting things)
When they asked us if we considered ourselves to be Jehovah's witnesses, I asked if THEY considered us to be JW's. One elder said yes and the other no. You can't win with them. The question was never answered.

Fluff: Any one know how to make cookie-cutter cookies?
by whyizit ini've recently had surgery and with all the expense and the time i am going to miss from work, my family and friends have agreed that we will exchange home-made items only this year.

I am not sure what you call molasses. I think molasses is the by product of taking the brown out of raw sugar, so it might be the syrup you mentioned. It has a distinctive flavor. I would do an internet search to be sure.
I edited the recipe..............forgot the 1/2 cup of sugar.
Yes, Lard is the same as shortening, at least it works the same way. One is animal (lard) the other is vegetable (shortenng). Butter works too.

I think it is 8 ft. We have to bend over the top quite a bit, to make it fit. I'm still decorating, and making things for the tree. Eventually there will be gingerbread people.
