this is my first post.

i have been a protestant christian my entire life, but over the past few months ive been conversing with two jehovahs witnesses on a weekly basis.

as they quickly learned that i was biblically versed, they replaced what i would call a trainee, with someone i believe to be an elder.

I find it rediculous that you entertain the JWs... they do not have any other source other than what the WTBTS provide. My wife is being drawn ever closer to baptism and she thinks that she knows it all and is officially trained although she knows not the technical Jargon or any other point of view other than that of the WT. I have very little knowledge of the bible and can quickly pick holes in something from the bible,... the fact is there is no room for compromise , they take no prisoners so if you feel like you are getting no where then that is true. You as an educated man perhaps needs to talk with and dicuss with more open and intellegent people than the JWs.

The other important thing you must consider...they are practicing on you Like my wife uses me to strengthen her beliefs... The more you resist them the hard they try.

Interesting fact I found out. The JWs say that things are getting worse..this is the end becuase of the way things are. Biblical issues maybe a strong point in the JWs camp but HISTORY is not. Most are really retarded on this subject. Ask who found a cure for small pox and they will not know. 1666 AD was the fire of London and was seen to be the end of it all because of the date number connection. They have no idea about the fequency of earthquakes on a daily basis of historical disasters famines plagues etc etc....... In the UK the Victorians made it law that children went to school, they provided milk to get rid of rickets which this diease plagued children.....where is it getting worse...?

Very good. Now dicussing this perhaps will have JWs looking back at their NWT books realising that Adam and Eve were not the first and only. Interesting. I am eager to research this some more then see what logical assumtions we can forge out that there were other races already inhabiting the earth. The WT will obiviously think that this is wrong? EDIT yes after a quick discussion the JW in our house hold believes we are all from the lineage of Adam and Eve...

I like the explainion from Paganistic writings. Thanks for posting...

Prayer

i am interested to know from other long time wittnesses if they had a hard time with prayer after leaving the organization?

when i left i found it so difficult to pray to "jehovah" and still do to this day.

i am always more comfortable with just "god".

It sounds almost like loosing a job in a fasion. Work provided for me everthing because we spent so much time there. Finding suddenly it is all gone is a real shock. Our place lost a contract and the place shut down. I keep in contact with my old work mates but its not the same. The shock of loosing my job made me look at how narrow my life had become so I decided to travel a bit, see parts of the world and relax for a while.

I came back home with new friends and lots of new stories. A fresh out look and realised that I'd changed while around me everyone was still doing the same things. I found I did not want to follow the same path and indeed some of the fears I'd had about changing had gone..

Excuse me for being uneducated on the bible, especially the Genesis. I though Adam and Eve were the only 2 created human beings by god. Apparently Cain had a wife....where did she come from? What was her name. Were the children involved in incest or were there other people outside the garden of Eden? If incest was the case then why did god allow it?

The NWT say that Adam and Eve had numerous children but how many?. Why doesn't the wife have a name whilst all the boys do?

These questions are definitely pointed because I am looking for some sort of leverage to cast doubts on certain aspects. I am Skeptical however bringing subjects like this up a JW always will find an answer to wriggle out of a question some how. What is the proper dubs stance on this?

I have been informed that this Cains wife issue is something to inspect. Can I use this as an arguement?

i feel safe enough to ask your advice and become involved now......from what i have learned about this forum it is occupied by sensible people who have left the watchtower influences for one reason or another.

i am, for want of a better word, a none believer.

One step closer to freedom!

it has been some time since my last post on here and its been hard for me to post much since i'm still in and my fellow dubbies are always poking there heads in my business trying to find something wrong to get me into trouble, but i do enjoy lurking on here from time to time... and i do plan to post here much more in the near future!.

actually, being on this site and reading all of your threads (mostly on my phone) has become my favourite thing to do at meetings and on field service and pretty much anything wtbts related!.

you all have been such a great help and comfort to me when i feel down, seriously even the trolls that come around here every now and then leave me with a sense of tranquility, for it reminds me of how i used to be just like them at one point, it gets me all "happified" to know that i have now awakened and see the "truth" about the truth and feel quite at peace with myself at times.. as some of you that have read my first post may know... i've been working on a really, really long fade, and so far its been going steady to say the least.

man im so drained right now and tired i cant say a whole lot.. but you know, i was thinking about going back to them and just to see a bit more about it all.. i dont know to be very honest with you if its thr right thing to do or not on a personal level.. .

i guess i need to mull things over.. .

any suggestions from previous jw's would be awesome for me.

Pams girls...what you have just described is shocking ,...this is what I have to expect.? This is actually evil itself. However God likes to kill children anyway....Luckily for our son, he is very active and can't sit in the KH for long and she doesn't want to take him along ..yet. I will watch out for it.

She told him a story at bed time which is a JW publication. Its about this guy and his wife who held money back after selling their land to help the christian congregation... God killed both of them on the spot for lying... I was shocked at this after wed already discussed violence on TV. It's okay for god to kill even after the couple wanted to hold back a bit of money for themselves??? the boy ws indifferent at that point but if the story is repeated I think the info would have sunk in. The little one is playing with another JW boy at the moment. What am I to do? Ban him from socialising with them?
