  Assembly picketing

  when i went to the assemblies, i would see people picketing, holding signs up, etc.

  you would have "security" to look out for green bibles, and keep opostates out.. i never looked at them with hatred, never really gave it much thought at all.. i am curious if anyone here has participated in protesting the assemblies, and what were the reactions?

  I agree LB. I think he was definitely crossing the line. If you want to get anywhere with a witness you have to give them a little info at a time. Too much and they put the wall up and stop listening... even if what you say is reasonablethey become unreasonable. Kill them with kindness. Remember how you felt when you were in and how you would react to the picketers that's how they will react to you if you do the same.

  Elder LIES to Downey, California Reporter

  dungbeetle and brymichmom delivered a stuffed lamb to the downey, ca kingdom hall at 12116 woodruff avenue today.

  present were a reporter and a photographer from the downey patriot newspaper.

  while we were placing the lamb at the front door, an elder approached us and asked us why we were there.

  WT Nov 4 Study Article - Damage Control??

  just been given this watchtower and found the 2nd study article very interesting..... is this the societies damage control to panorama and dateline?.

  para 8 onwards says...... 8 satan tries to break our integrity through the sowing of doubts about what we have been taught.

  You know what really irks me!!!

  my husband's sister is shunning us, mind you we have not been df'd...we just stopped attending meetings and my husband told his mom and sister he doesn't believe it is the truth.

  that is not what irks me, that is to be expected i guess.

  what just irks the heck out of me is that she sent my father in law over (he is not a witness) over our house with her car and asked my husband to change her oil and also put in a new water pump.

Now this takes alot of nerve!!! She can't talk to us, but has no problem asking my husband on his days off from work (he works around 50-60 hours a week) if he would work on her car. Now my husband being the nice christian that he is (although he is so evil she can't talk to him) will do this for her. I just can't believe she has the guts to do this.

  Disadvantages since leaving the truth?

  since leaving the jws reality can be hard to get used to these are somethings i found hard to adapt to:.

  1) starting to celebrate celebrations like birthdays and christmas(i dont mean that christmas is a disadvantage its just getting used to the whole idea).

  2) tell others im not a jw because all i used to do is try to convert them and now im telling them i was mislead and dont beleive it anymore.. 3) should i swear,lie,etc.

  Having to start all over making new friends.

  Forgiving myself for being duped. How could I have been so stupid! My kids missed out on so much.

  Not having someone tell me what I can and cannot do. Oh my gosh I have to make my own decisions now as to what is right and wrong and if I'm not sure I have to read the bible and see what God says on the matter not the governing body.

  My husband was raised around the truth, never really did anything with it. But thought it was the truth. We got married, had our son. I wanted to start going to church. I felt it was important to raise my children with a strong belief in God. I was raised an Episcopalian. So when they came to my door my husband encouraged me to study with them so I could learn for myself why it was the truth. I really didn't have any real knowledge of the bible. What they showed me sounded so appealing and they could always back it up with a scripture. I fell for it. Now my husband and kids are out thank the Lord, but it is not an easy process.

  Oprah Awards $50,000 to Silent Lambs

  now that i got your attention.... well, oprah hasn't yet awarded $50,000 to silent lambs, but she very well could if enough of us "nominate" silentlambs (bill/sheila/joe/barbara, et al) for oprah's "use your life award.

  " any regular oprah-watchers will know what i'm referring to; that during the season, she presents various individuals (on monday's show each week) with this award for their service to their cause (along with the big fat check)... .

  The Antichrist is a man and his number is 666.

  Did you know if you take the original Roman numbers I=1 V=5 X=10 L=50 C=100 D=500 originally there was not an M it was added later, take the numerica values for each and add them up you get 666. Probably just a coincidence......maybe.....no just a coincidence I'm sure.

  Why do so many people believe that jesus is god?

  i still say that, christiaity is f--- up in these last days.. christianity teaches that the messiah is god, when the bible clearly points out that jesus is a prophet sent by god... jesus prayed to god<----that's the biggest proof... so i think if anybody believe that jesus is god, is not only an'-ti-christ(not accepting) but also a liar, foolish, and you knoweth nothing, and you are not close to god or christ, you are closer to that devil which we call satan....

  There were times in the New Testament where Jesus received worship (people did obesience to him), if he were not God then this would have been wrong and Jesus always corrected someone if they were wrong. He accepted the worship because he was God. First of all you have to look at it as a Tri-Unity and not a Trinity. The Father, Son, and Holy Spirit are one and the three make up the One God. It's like an Egg. The Shell, Egg white and the yoke. The three parts are all Egg but together they are an Egg. Three in One. Space has Height, Width and Depth but it is space.

  I really don't think it is a big issue. You can believe that the Jesus is the Son of God because he is. Jehovah is God the father. In order to gain salvation you have to put faith in Jesus the Son of God. You see God could not come himself so he came by way of his son Jesus to try to get us to understand him better. You have to admit we never would have understood the depth of God's love if it were not for Jesus. Do you really thing we as humans could really totally understand what God is made up of. I know that Jesus is not a little god and Jehovah a big God because there is only ONE god. The Bible says that plainly. We just have a hard time understanding what God is. So the only thing that makes sense if for Jesus to be God or part of the Godhead.

  Now that I have rambled on.....It makes sense in my head but I can't really put it into words.
