I found all of this hard to read. Abusive parents and especially ones in the JW cult puts abuse on a another level. I know. The so called JW friends will get in the way of your peace and getting help for yourself and your parents. JW hold tight to the honor your parents to the nth degree. So to them this person is the bad guy instead of looking at what did his parents did to him. They all feel a disturbance in the JWJ force this causes them to feel uncomfortable. So they want a quick fix. In cases like this there is no quick fix. This thinking wait on Jehovah is just a lazy way of now accepting responsiblity for their actions. Leave the guy alone and don't judge him to harshly. His emotional scars run deep and this is probably the only way he knows how to deal with it. Another sad story from the JW cult. Totally ADD

MS shuns Witness parents
by EmptyInside ini just wanted your thoughts on this situation.
there was a young boy from my former congregatioin,he was about 5 years younger than me.. and his parents were overly strict with him.
but,i think the combination of being witnesses plus being raised the old-fashioned,southern way themselves was a bad combo for their son.. anyway,he got a lot of beatings at the meetings.

Is this weird? JW FB comments
by serenitynow! inparadise-related greetings and meetup plans.
on a couple of jw fb sites, people often say things like "i'll see you in paradise," or "i'm going to travel and meet all of you guys in paradise and hang out with your lions.
" and on the jw news, library, etc.

The Internet: Viewed by the Governing Body and Former JW's.
by AllTimeJeff init's sort of funny how the internet has turned into the bugaboo of the governing body's existence.
imagine the nerve of people masquerading as ip addresses, with no congregation secretary to track back to!.
of course, "apostates/former jw's" have a view of the internet that sometimes isn't all to realistic either.

Thank you AllTimeJeff for a great post on the internet and the GB. My dad taught me to be a JW was to accept responsibility for oneself. The truth be told to become a JW means you no longer have to be responsible and think for yourself. And I agree their are many who want someone else to do the thinking for them. It took many years for me but I have come to be one who does not need that kind of control. I hope I live long enough to see the JW cult fall apart and be exposed to everyone what they really are. It will take more than what we see on the internet but one day I hope something new will come along and show them to be what they really are. Good job on this post. Totally ADD

One reason the WT kick out all those bethelites was to save money. The other reasons they have found it is cheaper to have Temp. workers come in and do their consruction work. They can also get the skilled ones to do it. The RBC program is now design to trained ones in a skilled trade so these person hopefully will do Temp work for the WT. It's their new way to save money and get their work done. Totally ADD

Elder on my JC Killed in Warehouse Accident!
by jookbeard inalmost chocked on my cornflakes this morning reading the story in my local paper, not too sure how to embed the link but the sutton guardian.co.uk will have the story now.. basically dave churchill worked for a local catering company and was moving a stack of tables with some sort of trolley and they toppled down landed on him he died 2 days later in st george's hospital.. i'd known him most of my adult dub life and he was an elder in my ex wifes congregation, he also gave our wedding talk, he is survived by his wife elaine , they never had kids.. during my dissent into "apostasy" he was selected as one of the elders on my jc because he knew me but during my jc he came across and as an arrogant, self righteous, argumentative down right rude pos certainly showed characteristics that i had never experienced before and along with his "mate" on my jc another bellend named stan rogers started this bad cop/good cop shit on me during the 2 weekends on meetings, the other 2 on my jc chairman geoff woodfield and rensford ming showed themselves to be decent men.
3 amazing incidents have be felled these 2 men in the years that followed my jc, events that i've rarely mentioned much over the years.. isn't karma an amazing thing.

I agree with jean-luc. I've have heard that expression many times of ones who were DF or DA and died a tragic death. I remember about 20 years ago a former elder who left his wife and was DF was killed in a plane crash. Everybody I knew was talking about how Jehovah dealt with him. Of course they never mention the other 100 passagers on board the plane that crashed. I guess they were innocent bystanders of Jehovah execution of this man. Warp thinking. Totally ADD

Welcome AnthonyMorrisXIII. Like you raised in the 60's that awake maz. ruin any chance for me to get a education. I too wanted to be a weatherman. But did not know you had to go to college to become one. My parents told me don't worry about a education, having friends, space program, getting married because it was all going to be destoryed. Jehovah hated it all. That kind of thinking really puts a large void in ones life. Glad to have you here. I think the first thing you will have to overcome I know I did was this is a cult. It took me a while to make my mind over that one. Again welcome and thank you for your story. Totally ADD

Welcome Druid. I was a lurker for serveral years. Lucky you. Young and was able to figure it out. You have your whole life ahead of you. Thank you for your story. All the legal loopholes the WT cult has. That is why for most witnesses their thinking is always twisted. They are looking for the loopholes. Great to have you here. Totally ADD

My dad wont make it too much longer, advise/experiences needed
by Coffee House Girl inhello all at jwn,.
so my mom called to tell me that my dad wont be able to come back home, he has been on kidney dialysis (along with having congestive heart failure and diabetes and dimentia...) but now he is breaking down and will have to be admitted to a hospice center for the remainder of his time left (without dialysis wont be two weeks).
most of you know my situation, faded (not dfd or dad) but most of my family treats me like i am disfellowshipped except my mom and she keeps getting warnings from elders to cut off dealings with me- my dad is inactive but as head of the household he demands that i be able to visit and take care of mom and dad (so my mom must be submissive to his wishes).

Just saw your thread. I am so sorry about your father. Your dad would want you there. This is were the WT Cult oversteps their authority. They have no business telling your family not to talk to you. Your dad has let your mother know his feelings on the matter. Show all of them your love for your father and go see him. The JW cult knows how to stiffle any natural love there is. Don't let them get the best of you. Show all of them who is the better person here. We are all behind you in whatever decision you make. Best wishes to you and sorrow for you father. Totally ADD

Do you type or do you hunt and peck?
by JimmyPage ini was just thinking how thankful i am that i took a typing course in school years ago.
i would think it has to be very difficult posting on a board like this hunting and pecking all the time.
so how fast can you type?

Won first place in a Dist. high school contest. Then went to state and placed 6th place. At one time I was up to 90 to 100 words per. min. with 4 or less errors. Almost 40 years later I am lucky to type 20 or 30 words per. min. with 20 or less errors. LOL Because I played the organ as a kid I knew how to use my fingers on a kep board. Totally ADD
