this weekend was the convention for the southern san francisco bay area.

it was held at the santa clara convention center in the silicon valley http://www.santaclara.org/conventioncenter/ which is an improvement over the old s.f.

cow palace which is still used..just not as much.

Another Watchtower scandal and it reminds me of how glad I am to be "out" of this corrupt organisation.

some of you may remember my story, i studied with a women for 6 months, after about 3' i realized what a corrupt organization it was and spent the rest of the time trying to get her to see what was going on with the watchtower org.

she has been a jw fo 50 years, completly brainwashed so i ended the study.

a few days ago a nice gentelman rang our doorbell (woke us up) and i heard my husband sayin "you might be interested in talking to my wife,but she is not here" i ran down the stairs with sleep in my eyes, tried to get myself together as best as i could, and told him that he really needs to look into his organisation, mentioned how the greek nwt is changed, told him he needs to "make sure of all things" read coc, i told him it was a shame to devote his life to a dishonest org, and he has to look into it.

i just thought you should know that mrs cedars has finally taken the plunge and joined the forum.

she was able to log on for the first time yesterday.. though we both "awakened" at different stages, mrs cedars was very supportive and non-judgmental when i first began exploring my beliefs from a critical standpoint.

she is currently in the process of reading crisis of conscience and aquainting herself with some of the facts of witness history that were hitherto unknown.

We are expecting about 5 inches of rain this weekend in the midwest USA from what's leftover from Isaac. I will stay dry inside and clean out closets. Sounds like fun, yes?

My JW In-Law Celebrated my Bday...sort of.

new member, first post.. so, my bday was last monday, to my surprise my wonderful jw mother-in-law brought me a big ass cake (chocolate, my fav) on sunday along with a nice cologne with all the accesories included.

all this just because!.

hmm.... i wonder if she was secretely giving me a bday gift??

Yes, a lot of Witnesses secrety celebrate birthdays. As long as they don't have candles on the cake and sing happy birthday they figure it's ok. It happens a lot.

I am currenty on POF and have had no luck in a year and a half. I have found a lot of married men, alcoholics and men who are "damaged goods." Most of them have had their hearts broken, cheated on, etc. They are still carrying a lot of hurt around.

I am good at sizing people up in person and usually ask to meet right away. I have spent many precious hours emailing these gentlemen only to find that in person there is no chemistry there at all and what they acted like in print was not what and who they really are.

Dating at 58 is difficult because everyone has their own house and doesn't really want to change their lives for anyone else. It's a challenge, to say the least.
