my story slowly
by venting ini remember studying the truth book.
the blood issue never sat well with me.
in fact it's my biggest complant.
-
whathappened
If you haven't already read it, go to jwfacts.com. There is a very in depth, informative page about the blood doctrine and why it is scripturally WRONG, WRONG, WRONG!!!
i couldn't believe what I was reading. It made so much sence, unlike the Watchtower's reasoning.

I was thinking the new assembly program may be another nail in the coffin.
by Crazyguy inwhen i was young and wanted to meet other young ones and girls we would look forward to the district assemblies, even the 2 day circuit assemblies weren't to bad and we would go to other ones we were not assigned to in order to meet new ones.
with this new program of one days and the district assemblies possibly going to 1days this looks to me like it will be much harder for kids looking for mates to find any.
i hope this means that many will mary outside the truff and be another nail in their coffin.
-
whathappened
You are at the assembly to take in knowledge...not to find a hot babe to marry...at least that is what we were told!!!
It is extremely difficult to find a mate in the org. Start dating someone and automatically you are pressuered to marry quickly before you do the nasty and end up df'd. You also cannot possibly get to know anyone well enough to make an educated decision about marrying them because you are never supposed to be alone and must be chaperoned at all times. Lots of fun!

I havent been in over three years but there wasn't any growth. The Kingdom Hall has been listed for sale for way over a year and not sold. Guess "Jehovah" doesn't want them to sell it???

Fake friends and other things that annoy me about the Kingdom Hall
by MysticMage init was easy to figure people out.
as long as you got out in service and put money in the money box people will pretend to be your "friend".. but let's be honest is most of business associates.
they are your friends as long as you are active doing the watchtower bidding.. and then let's talk about the lack of hot women.

I noticed all the single men were so stupid they could barely even do a Bible reading. Their manners were horrible. Everyone knew that all the brothers only wanted to marry the pretty sisters. If you weren't a pretty girl, you were going to have to settle for someone very unactractive themselves, with a very noticeable personality disorder. A forty something year old elder could find a twenty something sister to marry him without any difficulty whatsoever. Any half decent JW man can score a 10 is he looks hard enough.

An interesting encounter with some sisters today.
by quellycatface inwhen i got up to leave, i went over to their table and said "nice to see you", their faces were a picture.
gemma obviously told them i was da'd.
all i got were tight smiles, so i said to gemma "i like your hair like that" and left......

We were invited to a graduation party this past weekend for a young woman who was raised in but never baptised. Her parents are still active in the JW's. My nephew and this young woman (the graduate) are living together out of wedlock. JW's were there at the graduation party. The mother of the graduate's boyfriend is disfellowshipped and my sister and I are "known apostates." They all ate with us and talked to us. No one even mentioned religious topics or anything. The hostess and her husband are totally aware of our spiritual standing. We were quite pleased and felt very comfortable there. So...there are JW's who don't mind breaking the rules.

$5000.00 PER CONGREGATION??
by Brainfloss inso is this the $5000.00 that each congregation allowed to keep really the same amount for all congregations?
i mean $5000.00 in pratt kansas goes a lot further than 5k in los angeles california.
seems strange.

Then say you have an expense and spend most or all of the $5000. How are they supposed to build it back up again? It may take a long time. My old hall could barely make their payments as it was.

Do you think JWs are dangerous, if yes why? If not, why?
by suavojr inpersonally the jws to me are not dangerous.
on the other hand, many do think they are in fact a dangerous cult.
why are they dangerous?.
-
whathappened
Not only dangerous, they are cruel. Taking away precious hours each week for years and decades of people's lives, discouraging them from making something of themselves. They make false promises and give people false hope. They steal peoples lives away. The enslave people by their false teachings and endless rules. Yes, they are an evil sort. Glad I am out...sorry I didn't leave sooner.

Awful experience: I threw my WT library out!
by StephaneLaliberte inyes, i threw my wt library out: my recycle bin was full.
even if i had imagined this experience to be similar to a prisoner getting rid of his chains, this was not so.. instead, it brought up all the memories i had shared with my family where we were excited about the release of the revelation book; the clear feeling of ultimate knowledge when we showed the live forever book, the questions i had practiced with my family in the organized book, my cousins who got baptized as well.
somehow, all i could think of was only the good memories i had shared with my family and almost cried about it.. and then, i started to think of the division, the hatred and the pain that became prevalent in my family as some were disfellowshipped and thus, ostracized.

Throwing out Watchtower literature is very cathartic. Good things in your future, I am sure.
