As for giving out the Study edition to householders....yes they're not supposed to. But some witnesses do anyway. Same with Organized to Accomplish Our Ministry and other such publications. They don't care as long as they're placing something that they can "count". Some have even given songbooks as gifts and counted them as placements.

Study Edition given out on 'the doors'(TM)
by punkofnice ina good friend of mine who was never a jdub entertains the jws at his door and enjoys a friendly debate with them.. my friend is an atheist/agnostic (let's not get too picky on defenitions here).. the jws see him as fodder for the kingdom hell.
he tells them he knows me and they make no negative comments about me.
obviously they don't want to put him off methinks.. he was given a 'study edition'(tm) to my surprise.. he read it.

I've also heard witnesses tell householders, "Why don't you believe in Jehovah? He believes in you."

Wouldn't matter to me. I left them. I don't have any family members in, and therefore have never been shunned by anyone that matters to me.
However let's pretend for a moment that I did have relatives in, and that they have shunned me for years. I would "forgive" them and asscoaite with them because that might help them realize how much they had been mislead, to their own loss not mine.

Maybe an actual person was in the original photographs but he later DA'd or was disfellowshipped, so they put a fake figure in there to fill the spot.

Fb status of a Young JW Mom. Sooo Sick!
by 3dogs1husband incan't believe that we made it through the whole assembly, **** wasn't feeling good last night, has a cold, was pretty cranky, then he seemed fine and minutes later im making a bowl with my hands for him to throw up in while we are sitting (the joys of parenthood) then into a plastic bag, then very quickly ran to the bathroom for even more throwing up, but suprisingly we stayed for the rest of the day.
trying to think of a response.
i am not "out" on fb soooo sick from this i wanna throw up myself...poor children!.

This reminds me of the people who not only come to meetings, but also grab the microphones to give their profound comments. Then everyone else catches strep throat.

The websites such as eharmony might be a good idea. Another way is to get invovled in some kind of club or activity...volunteering or something like that, or join a church and get involved in some kind of committee (new experience for you, since in the WT the women are only allowed to pioneer and clean the bathrooms) and you can meet people through that particular group. Some volunteer opportunities are: hospitals, animal shelters, museums...probably other things.
As for myself, once I left the WT and went out "into the world" I never tell people about my past, especially when dating. I have some great friends who invited me over for Thanksgiving. They asked what do I normally do for Thanksgiving, spend it with family or what? I said something vague, like "Oh, some years I spend it with relatives up north, some years I stay home...it depends..." Same with Christmas. If a date asks me about my religious affiliation I just say, "Oh, I'm kind of open minded...I don't consider myself any particular denomination." And as for the subject of friendship, I just say that some of my old friends seemed to have drifted away...you know, people change over time....
I feel that is better than explaining that I was in a mind-controlling cult for so many years and am new to celebrating holidays. That might freak them out.

Are we gonna have show-and-tell?
That would be better than the theocratic misery school.
