At some point society will demand the adult conversation. We aren't getting rid of it. Focusing on the number of cases is flawed. Protect the elderly. Everyone else, just live life. Some will die. But more will die if we keep shutting down.

Prince Andrew, the Walls are Closing In
by Simon inone thing i've learnt over the years is to read between the lines.. that means reading statements carefully.. if you have never met someone, would you say "i have never met them" or would you say "i don't remember ever meeting them"?.
the latter is just a get-out out in case evidence is presented that you did in fact meet them, because there is a photo of you with your arm around them in the upstairs of a pedo's friends, girlfriends house, which you also claim you never went to.. what will happen if the us jails a uk royal?
who knows.. before then i just hope he does another of those "utterly convincing" bizarre interviews to "prove" how he couldn't have done it because he is incapable of sweating (cut to photo of sweating andrew).

Funny some of you guys support Trump despite his association with Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell
It has been proven, without doubt, that Trump eats bunnies and puppies for breakfast, and according to CNN anonymous sources, he likes them with Russian dressing.

You talk about deaths caused by Communism. Have you ever bothered to calculate the deaths by Capitalism?
LoL. Really? You've got to be kidding.
How many deaths from colonial rule?
What does that have to do with capitalism?
How many deaths of starvation in capitalists countries? How many deaths from sickness? And so on. Fairs fair...
Millions, if not billions, less than if the economic system were communist. You've got to be trolling.

Whatever he does, he should avoid using the "C"-word - in order to prevent committing suicide the very next day.

I'm now turned off by this site
by purrpurr inin one form or another i've been a member of this site for almost 10 years.
in the past this was a great place for debate, news and support for ex jws.
i logged on several times a day and posted several times a week.

I'm not so sure. This is, after all, an ex-JW site. Once you get past the idea that an all powerful being is going to organize life for you, politics becomes much more relevant. It matters to ex-JWs infinitely more than current members.Especially when you consider that for many questioning Jws this site may be the first they click on. If it looks to be mostly a political place then they may just click out again and who knows if they will click elsewhere to get the help they need?
This is not a bad point actually.
The argument above posits that the ex-JW community should keep the conversion less scary to active JWs, lest they see the frightening political speak and run back to the organization. In other words, we shouldn't be free here because of the WTBTS' hold over us through others. Fork that.

Now before certain people start frothing at the mouth, I should point out, I'm not saying that theres anything wrong with political debates or thoughts or opinions.
Ok.
But I do wonder whether this is the right site for such? Especially when you consider that for many questioning Jws this site may be the first they click on.
This has been said, what... 5000 times over the last 12 months? Each time the answer is the same: the topic is allowed here. You can engage or not. It's your choice. Nobody forces anyone into a thread.
But I also noticed that it didn't take long for the "stop political discussions here" crowd to start associating the scary "right wing" with a cult.

Did You Think The Capitol Riot Was Worse Than What Happened On 9/11?
by minimus inin my lifetime 9/11 was the worst thing that i can recall.
the effect it had was incredibly horrible!
almost everyone seemed to know someone that was either directly or indirectly affected by this diabolical act.
-
MeanMrMustard
Whoever originated this thought of comparing these was probably attempting to minimize the Capitol Riot.
No, they are trying to maximize it by comparison instead of contrast.
They are saying "This was sooooo bad, it was like 9/11".

That aught to do it. We are now all safe.

We have a family friend. She has ulcerative colitis. It has been under control for 15 years. She was originally told not get the vaccine, but then the general word went out that it is safe for everyone. She went with Pfizer. Three days after her second dose, a flare started that, it seemed, could not be controlled. She was in the hospital for 23 days, and came within an inch of losing her colon. The doctors agreed that the only thing different was the vaccine.

The payback is economies slowly returning and government issued benefits that will have to be repaid. (taxes)
As if the economy is some external nebulous thing sitting "over there". The economy is us. Businesses, mostly small, have been decimated, each one representing the life work and investment of someone. The government was (and still is) picking winners and losers.
The money printing represents a tax - the value of the money has been ciphened away, and a small percentage of that value is given back in "benefits". And to repay it? Give me a break - that has and never will occur. The virus may be over but there is going to be lingering consequences.
It's not. It will evolve. It already has. At some point we need to have the adult conversation about risk. You really cant fault the governments for doing what they did, it was in good intentions.
I can, and I do. The risk was unknown for about a 4 week period. Anything after that was fear porn and a power grab. And probably used as an opportunity to advance political power as a means to promote economic philosophy. At least we can say we will be more prepared for the next pandemic virus that comes around and I hope it doesn't in are lifetime.
Too late.
