  What they are doing makes sense in a financial way and it is a push to get more of the literature distributed to the public.

  It will be interesting to see what the revisions are in the books, also as mentioned in the letter, they will be using quotations from the revised NWT in them.

  They know now how much literature was produced during the just ended 2014 SY, thus saw an increase and want to get the number requested reduced if possible, while not restricting what publishers want or need for themselves or their fs.

  They have had articles in the past in the km about publishers making good use of publications and not wasting any and that congs should reduce the amount of mags requested if there is a large surplus of left over copies.

  yes,i know what it means however,the gb of the wbts does not.they said the study edition apears once a month and is not offered to the public.the study edition(has 32 pages) and the public edition(has 16 pages) of the watchtower are not two different magazines.per their wt of jan.15/2008.. on page 2 of their oct.15/2014 public wt they say it is published semimonthy.

  page 3 they say nearly 46 million copies of each issue are printed.also their study edition is published semimonthymy understanding, the public issue is on the 1st of the month and the study is on the 15th month only one copy of ea issue.someone please explain the discrepancies.. .

  It is deceitful the way they do it. They mention The Watchtower as the magazine with the largest circulation of 45 million without including the study edition.

  In the article on jw.org about their printing operations they mention the 16-page magazine but make no mention of the 32 page editions. They say they produced over 1.3 billion magazines in 2012, thus over 108 million per month, if you subtract the 16 page w and g that leaves over 17 million for the 32 page editions.

  Yes, if a non-witness reader bothers to look and see that the magazine is published semi- monthly he or she would wonder where the other issue is, why are they receiving only one issue each month.

  They create confusion too, I think, by claiming The Watchtower is just one magazine, both editions are The Watchtower and are semi-monthly, but... they only include the printing figure for each issue of the public edition. In actuality they are printing over 60 million copies of The Watchtower each month.

  Why do they only give the circulation figure for the public edition?

  I imagine the simplified edition and braille editions are the same as the study edition, 15th of the month issues. (fit in as such, same with the large print editions).

  I thought the reason for creating a seperate study edition was to cut costs since they print over 45 million of the public edition but only around 14-17 million of the study edition.

  I had recieved a similar explanation from the society about Rand Cam years ago. I can not scan it, can't even find it.

  I don't have the capability to scan anything onto this site nor do I know how, but I too had recieved a similar letter.

  As for the UN/NGO thing, that shocked me when I first discovered information on it about ten years ago. The society sent me a letter explaining they just wanted to use the UN Library/ Media facilities , which we know is bs.

  I saw behind the wt curtain. my eyes were opening and it led to my discovering the tatt .

  There is no excuse for the society to have been involved in any way with the UN. Yes, hypocrasy on their part and proof the gb do not trust in Jehovah's protection or obey him. (IF he even exists.)

  Most witnesses still don't know about these things and my jw brother does not WANT to know. It is good that such things get brought up here so those who don't know will find out.

  i was baptized at the age of 11. like most of us, my commitment wasnt to honor god but rather i was gang pressed into the service of the wtbts.

  and, at such a young age, it was impossible for me to appreciate the enormity of my actions.

  honestly, how could i possibly have known any better?

  a question for those that still attend meetings.... how many use tablets or ipads in your hall?.

  i did roving microphones this week, and i counted 43 people (variety of ages) out of an audience of 98!.

  just curious....

  Welcome powermetal4ever!

  Sorry you still have to go to the meetings. Considering how dry & boring they were when I was still going 9 years ago, I can only imagine it has gotten worse.

  Back in the 70's and early 80's the elders & ms in my cong used to make the meeting parts interesting by using skits. They set the platform up with a cot and curtains pretending to operate on a spiritually weak witness, they would turn off the lights and use the literature room with its lights on as a house and we'd watch the scene through the window as they demonstrated various presentations on the householders and other interesting skits.

  But that was a long time ago and it seems they are not allowed to do things like that anymore. The meetings became so forced and cut and dry, a real drag to have to sit through. I am so glad I don't have to do that anymore!
