I thought the reason for creating a seperate study edition was to cut costs since they print over 45 million of the public edition but only around 14-17 million of the study edition.

I had recieved a similar explanation from the society about Rand Cam years ago. I can not scan it, can't even find it.

I don't have the capability to scan anything onto this site nor do I know how, but I too had recieved a similar letter.

As for the UN/NGO thing, that shocked me when I first discovered information on it about ten years ago. The society sent me a letter explaining they just wanted to use the UN Library/ Media facilities , which we know is bs.

I saw behind the wt curtain. my eyes were opening and it led to my discovering the tatt .

There is no excuse for the society to have been involved in any way with the UN. Yes, hypocrasy on their part and proof the gb do not trust in Jehovah's protection or obey him. (IF he even exists.)

Most witnesses still don't know about these things and my jw brother does not WANT to know. It is good that such things get brought up here so those who don't know will find out.

i was baptized at the age of 11. like most of us, my commitment wasnt to honor god but rather i was gang pressed into the service of the wtbts.

and, at such a young age, it was impossible for me to appreciate the enormity of my actions.

a question for those that still attend meetings.... how many use tablets or ipads in your hall?.

i did roving microphones this week, and i counted 43 people (variety of ages) out of an audience of 98!.

just curious....

Sorry you still have to go to the meetings. Considering how dry & boring they were when I was still going 9 years ago, I can only imagine it has gotten worse.

Back in the 70's and early 80's the elders & ms in my cong used to make the meeting parts interesting by using skits. They set the platform up with a cot and curtains pretending to operate on a spiritually weak witness, they would turn off the lights and use the literature room with its lights on as a house and we'd watch the scene through the window as they demonstrated various presentations on the householders and other interesting skits.

But that was a long time ago and it seems they are not allowed to do things like that anymore. The meetings became so forced and cut and dry, a real drag to have to sit through. I am so glad I don't have to do that anymore!

I think they will eventually have you print your own tracts and the magazines will go bi-monthly, then quarterly, then print your own.

The study w will remain as it is for now, but eventually, there will be only study articles that you print yourself.

It is good the km is available to the public, but again, more cost-cutting.

How much money do they need? Several billion dollars is not enough? What do they do with all that money?

Yes, my brother thinks public records are doctored or faked! He probably thinks the reported sales figures are greatly exaggerated.

When it comes to what people WANT to believe, they close their minds to inconvienent facts. Yet, he claims the witnesses alone are exact and accurate in what they publish!

The wts has yet to get right the size of the Wallkill printery in their publications, for example!

Yes, it is stupid. There is no reasoning with him, he refuses to listen to me. Satan controls the media and it distorts the facts. But the gb always tell the truth and always have. Amazing!

Also, he always refused to have the internet claiming Satan is in the computer! With all of the emphasis on jw.org and his handing out the tracts advertising it, he is a pioneer, I wonder if he feels hypocritical or if he finally got the internet.
