How would the diehard witnesses view this ?
by man in black inthis video was sent to me earlier today, and it really hit a nerve with me,,,,, i just couldn't stop applying it to the witness belief of df and da.. i've known quite a few witness parents over the years who just left their kids "on the roadside" because they no longer.
wanted to be a part of this religion.. why is it that genuine human reaction/emotion is dropped when children no longer want to be a jw ?.
this father seems to be quite a guy, notice how he yells at the security/medical person near the end no doubt to leave his son alone !.

Two questions: 1) what was the announcement about paperback Bibles and 2) what was the video posted earlier, I think it was something about blood - plus a third thing they mentioned in the meeting
by slimboyfat in1) i am listening to the meeting on the phone right now.
during the announcements they said there is a letter about paperback bibles and if you want to know what it says you need to read it on the notice board.
i can't read it on the notice board because i'm not there!

The letter stated that for the time being soft bound Bibles would not be available. Use what is in stock, no more to be printed or shipped. They were wearing out quickly, the lettering on the cover wore right off and in humid areas the Bibles turned to mush and exploded apart. Deluxe and Reference bibles still available as special order item - only for regular attendees and baptized bros. The hardcover Bibles black only still available and this is what we can give the public (just this bible type). No more pocket size bibles of any sort available (Remember the little red bible?)
PDFs of mags (awake, public & study wt) and selected books now available at jw.org
mp3 of new acts book available at jw.org - next study book.
the deal on signing over the money - it is a congregation survey that is done once a year showing what pubs are likely to donate towards the cong fund. this way the congs see if they can make the bills. many congs can't make their payments to the society and they are giving breaks to some congs who can't make the payments, doing what they can (how loving! yuk!) they need to just stop all payments or sign over all the deeds to them. Taxes, income, interest statements (1099)s - it must be a nightmare.

What Is The Watchtower Afraid Of?
by metatron inif you follow the current nonsense being taught by the society, in its latest magazines and assembly parts, there seems to be a dominant theme about near worship of the "faithful slave" and tiresome nagging about 'obey, obey, obey'.. my unanswered question is: why?.
if they were the empire in star wars, i would expect to hear dark-robed members of the evil governing body muttering about " a disturbance in the force".. anyhow, what has changed to generate this sudden demand for obedience to their supposed authority?
some years ago, they panicked after contributions collapsed in the 'voluntary donation arrangement'.

Fear of control and displeasing Jehovah. They at times feel that Jehovah and Jesus are not happy with things and so they want to tighten the belt. Fear of rebellion and getting the youth to buy into the org and the way things are done. Lawsuits and exposure of coverups are running them scared. All Bethel speakers have been instructed to follow outlines to the letter and give no private views in any talks. Talks can only be recorded for personal use, talks recorded for shut-ins and then have to be destroyed later. Lawyers are running every move and accountants are running all the numbers, everyone will soon have to print everything off of PDF files online (I look for this happening very soon).. COs will continue for at least another year or two, but could come down to more regional, local levels with substitutes. 2 day Circuit Assemblies will go to 1 long day - I look for that happening in another year or 2. Letting the stranglehold off in some things, showing it as loving and then demanding strict obedience. They will do that since they are personally responsible for every single last pub, pio, CO and even inactive person alive. And really according to scripture they are. So, the bottom line I see, they don't want displeasure and punishment from on high. It could be a long haul!

Get a great laugh from this gem from the 50's
Is there any objection to a dedicated Christian minister’sbelonging to a nudist group or living at a nudist camp or resort?
—M.D., United States.Whether man would have continued naked had he not sinned the Word of God does not explicitly state. However, we do note that after the first human pair sinned Jehovah God made clothes for them, slaughtering animals to provide the skins. (Gen. 3:21) Certainly that was a change from their original nakedness. But since these clothes were provided by the Creator himself, who would dare claim that Adam and Eve would have been better off without them? Certainly throughout the Scriptures we note that God’s servants wore clothing, and oftentimes it is described.
More than that, man is the only creature on earth that has need of clothing, and that for at least three sound reasons. First, as a protection from the elements and nature, from heat and cold, from rough terrain or thorns, and so forth. Secondly, there is the matter of beauty and comeliness. Clothing adds to the appearance, helps give one a measure of confidence and serves to cover one’s unseemly parts, even as the apostle Paul notes at 1 Corinthians 12:23. And thirdly, there is the matter of modesty. Thus we read at Revelation 16:15 that Christians should take care lest they lose their garments and be exposed to shame. True, this refers to spiritual garments, but the illustration would be without force if the nude state were to be preferred to the clothed.
Further, the Scriptures admonish Christian women to be chaste and modest in their attire: “I desire the women to adorn themselves in well-arranged dress, with modesty and soundness of mind.” (1 Tim. 2:9) It would be stretching credulity to believe, as claimed by the nudists, that men and women of the world are of such a high moral tone that in the presence of nude women they would not be likely to transgress along the line Jesus mentioned at Matthew 5:28: “Everyone that keeps on looking at a woman so as to have a passion for her has already committed adultery with her in his heart.”
Therefore no dedicated Christian minister can remain in good standing in the New World society of Jehovah’s witnesses and at the same time be a member of a nudist colony or frequent nudist camps.

They would say, "This is what we do for the beatup people of this old system, directing them to the only hope, God's organization". Leaving family behind and gaining a new spiritual family, who are better than any old fleshly, worldly family! These are my true friends. But wait, if they get in trouble or leave the org, then I can drop them, hate them and forget them. Hot and cold! Turn it on and then in a matter of seconds change.
Although, I have heard a prominent elder say in a public talk that noone can judge him on how he treats his family - worldly or otherwise - even saying, "Blood is thicker than water"! -

Has anyone counted Parttakers as published in the yearbook?
by STILLINWANTOUT ini was just wondering if anyone has ever counted the yearly parttakers.
2005-8524.. based on these numbers 36373 has been anointed in four years alone.
am i mistaken to understand that the 144000 is to go to heaven and are apart of the anointed class and therefore these part takers are also going to heaven.

The old group that seems to never die off. In private conversations with a GB member he told me that maybe 1/4 are true annointed. I had this confirmed from others who have asked. But, still with younger ones and time going on - the number will never decrease. You have all seen the wording of articles and recent QFR - this covers their back for younger GB members. Heck, in 20 years there will be a GB member who is only 25 right now. On a side note - check out this reasoning from an old QFR in the 50's - amazing points to coverup Christians in the earlier days.

w521/15p.62Questions From Readers
According to the article “Hated for His Name” in the September 1, 1951,
Watchtower, hundreds of thousands of Christians died in the “ten persecutions”
starting in Nero’s time, 144,000 dying in Egypt alone during one of the persecutions.
How can this be harmonized with the Scriptural limitation
of 144,000 placed on the number being in Christ’s body, and which position was the
only one open to Christians during those centuries?—J.A.,Dominica Republic.
The article did not class with any finality the individuals that died during these persecutions, but spoke of the results in a general way. Note that a key qualification was made in the case referred to in the question: “In the province of Egypt alone, 144,000 such professed Christians died by violence in the course of this persecution, in addition to another 700,000 who died as a result of fatigues encountered in banishment or under enforced public works.” The victims are identified as “professed Christians”, not Christians in fact. Many of those persons might have been caught in the wave of persecution, but may never have actually preached the truth or followed in Jesus’ footsteps, being only professed Christians. They knew the world they lived in was rotten and they were listening to the message of the Christians and willing to die for it even though not in line for the high calling in Christ Jesus. Many professed Christians today might be willing to die for their faith, but still not be Jesus’ footstep followers and meeting the Scriptural requirements for such.

You got it. I have seen it all, done it all and kind of know it all. 55 years in it. See my first post. What is the debate? I have an open mind and can wrestle with the best. I have taken on Cos and high ups and over the years. Am still attending and in good standing. Bring it on.

I have an old Golden Age magazine that states since the days of the week are Pagan names they need to be renamed. It went so far as saying calenders are pagan, one shouldn't use them and the new theocratic names for months, days of the week and years counting from creation day were to be used. It was quackery at it's finest. Unbelievable words written down for the building up of the cong!

Bane MadJW and other apologist please justify ......................
by cantleave inin light of the following scripture:-.
there are six things that jehovah does hate; yes, seven are things detestable to his soul: lofty eyes, a false tongue, and hands that are shedding innocent blood, a heart fabricating hurtful schemes, feet that are in a hurry to run to badness, a false witness that launches forth lies, and anyone sending forth contentions among brothers.

I have heard it explained this way - "Not giving out the entire detailed facts. Withholding information to those not entitled to it. Then quoting Jesus who remained silent when asked some questions, such as, "Are you a king?"
I guess you could claim ignorance, amnesia, stupidity or the cat's got my tongue, or ask these 2 big guys standing next to me (angels)!

Survival bags - they had an letter read in the US showing the unpredictable nature of the times and disasters occuring. They said it would be prudent to have a disaster preparedness drill once a year in areas prone to hurricanes, floods, earthquakes, etc. They wanted all contact phone numbers, cell & work numbers and additional contact for emergency. That way if a disaster broke out, the BOEs and COs can all report to HQ. The supplies to have on hand were to be in the home (enough for a week for each family member), and also in the car. We had a an elder ask constantly - "Do you have your disaster preparedness kit setup at home & in the car?" Many said, how loving the GB was to inform us of this and to account for all the sheep. Much like, "Have you filled out an updated Medical Alert DPA form?" How about - "You must arrive at the meetings early, because if you're late we have the doors locked!" Fear, paranoided and absolute trust in the GB, not common sense.
