  damn, it happened again.

  i was working.

  i travel around in my work.

  today i was in a mall.. a lovely young woman approached me, looked me in the eye and said she wanted to leave me with something...as she handed me a tract.. i looked at it searching for evidence it was jw.

  Nowisee,

  You responded naturally. The problem is the JWs do not interact with nature response. As you observed, they flee.

  If we are to help damaged people we have to revert to the damaged persons perspective. This is hard to do. Situations confront us and we want to react as a real person (as you did) but "real" doesn't work here.

  It is a theraputic challenge. But don't be ashamed of reacting as a normal person. That is . . . NORMAL. If we are to help these people, as I hope all want to, one must THINK AS A JW. Respond like a JW and give them only a glimse of reality by questions and reluctant response to their questions.

  A crashing dose of reality drives them desperately back to their fantasy.

  Boy its hard for teenaged JW's

  i had to come home early from work today because a 17 year old girl came over to me and was all upset she asked if she could come up and visit with my wife and i. she said the brothers are always picking on her and she can not do anything right.

  i asked,what have you done she said nothing every time it is some one making things up and she is tired of even trying any longer.

  teenagers come from over all the area they they know they can come and talk to us and we will not judge them.

  You are doing more good than any one in the JW Congregation to help people. I'm glad you know the tight rope well enough to walk it.

  As to the young lady who others are 'making things up' about, I have seen that before. She obviously does not fit in to the JW mold and that is why she is a target. It is possible she IS doing something that the talk springs from but you and I don't care. The JW standard is impossible and wrong. It is a burden that produces nothing but failure and guilt. So support her, no matter what comes to light.

  But don't forget the tight rope you walk. I tried to do that as an elder and was constantly in trouble. I hope you can do what you do as long as possible. When they catch up to you, don't forget all the young people you helped who may have gone to drugs, destructive sexual behavior or suicide if it were not for someone they could turn to who they could relate to.

  Just finished uni after 4 1/2 years!!!

  i started uni doing a ba the year after i left the dubs.

  then i got pregnant & married, & still continued ... i have just finished my honours year in history - i did a thesis on why the dubs were banned in australia during ww2.

  talk about full circle!

  THE WATCHTOWER & ISLAM

  1. has the watchtower ever directly critcised the islamic faith or its sacred text, the koran?

  if so, what are some specific examples.

  A writer name Nathan McCall wrote a book called Makes Me Wanna Holler

  He was a tough dude in his time but when he returned to his getto he suddenly felt fear. He knew the desperate people on the street were more willing to die than he was.

  That is surely what the Watchtower fears about Islam: A people with as much faith as theirs but more willing to die for their beliefs then they are.

  Another factor is that the WT has next to zero growth in all Islamic countries. Why mess with the piggy bank that has now money?

  i publicly said the pledge of allegiance with my right hand over my heart.

  the irony of it all is it happened during vacation bible school this week in my church's sanctuary.

  Did that for the first time about one year ago, sworn into the Coast Guard Auxiliary. Felt strange for the first time. Deprogramming is a step at a time.

  You have a point with the comparison of the Jackson media exposure compared to sitting on this London Times report.

  As to WHY they are not reporting it, I don't know why. It is obvious why they report on the M. Jackson stuff. We know the media is motivate not just by news but by money generating news. Thus Jackson is tops. But none of them want to get 'scooped' by a competitor. Obviously they do not consider foreign media as competitors. I dont understand it either.

  BTW, it is taking more than today to finish it but they have 94% of the needed signatures as of this post.
