by free and happy inso where do you start?.
i've been reading peoples experiences for several months now trying to figure out what i want to say but how do you put your whole life into a few words?.
i was a born in but have been happy and free for 5 years and luckily for me my husband felt the same way and we have freed our children from being brainwashed.

Is anyone here hooked on Downton Abbey?
by exwhyzee inmy wife got me started watching this show last year.
we've downloaded the previous seasons on netflix and have found it to be really well done.
the story line, scenery,costumes,old cars and compelling characters have us hooked.

*raises hand* Yep I love Downton. Got first 2 series boxed sets for Chrimbo too. You might like the latest series here in UK 'Mr Selfridge' it's not quite as good as Downton but it's good.

Bipolar Landlady kicks me out!
by Terry infun times.. a year and a month have passed since i moved in to the house where my cousin deb and her husband bobby live.. i had a small but comfortable room, tv, etc.. a nice cozy family situation, you might say....right?.
i pay $600 a month to defray expenses.. hunky dory.. sure.
until the first few eruptions!.

Newbie Again (Kinda Sorta)

still "physically in" but have mentally been gone for years.
i am still in my marriage and unfortunatly things have not gotten any better as far as me being able to help him see the light as far as the organization.. i am at a serious crossroad though because i am almost 30 years old, with no children.

Hello and welcome back. Your story is so sad. I want to tell you that leaving the truth in your 50s when grown children are involved and long time friends are both lost, is an absolute nightmare. It took me nearly 30 years to give up on a bad marriage and the ending it was just horrific (it was much worse than yours sounds though) as is the grief that comes with accepting the many lost years of life.
For you at 30, it's bottom line time by the sound of it, and you sound so unhappy and trapped. Do you really love your husband? Do you think he really loves you? The answers to these are what matters in your marriage. I would suggest that you ask him if he loves you enough to have a meaningful honest discussion without involving the WTBS in your marriage. If he isn't able to do this you probably have to tell him how you're feeling anyway, but you can refuse to discuss your feelings with elders, and he can't prove what you've told him without witnesses to it. They cant do anything to you on the basis of hearsay, and you owe them no explanations whatsoever. youre an adult with rights here, although I know its hard to remember it under that pressure. But, if he agrees to keep them out of it, maybe the two of you can find a way to carry on, if you love each other.
You have to be true to yourself my friend so that you can find happiness and true fulfilment in your very precious life. Feel free to PM me if I can help further.

Hello Awakening and a warm welcome to the forum. I think Jgnat's advice to go 'undercover' is a good tip. Make sure that while you go throughout the process of waking up your wife that you are loving and kind. I'm sure this will be easy for you as you sound as if you care for her very much anyway. But remember that JWs teach that those drawing away are influenced by Satan, so your very loving ways will counteract any suggestion of that. Steve Hassan's books about 'Combatting Cult Mind Control' are really excellent. It's good to hear your relief at being able to speak honestly here. This place has helped so many of us to heal on the journey out, when friends and family are lost and our hearts get broken. I look forward to hearing some of your stories.

thinkin' "twilight" did that in - just saw a commercial for a cartoon where the star is a teenage vampire.
even the zombies are becoming friendly (seen a trailer about a zombie who falls in love and so reverts to "living" again).

I'm hopeless at horror movies, get so upset and scared, start shouting at people on the screen about the dangers etc lol. I have to hide my eyes if it gets too bad, and can't watch any alone! Years ago I ran out of the 3D cinema in Paris Disneyland while Honey I Shrunk the Kids was on, so traumatised lol, thought Id have a heart attack. So it's all still scary for me!

my world interacts quite often with music stars, and i have interesting conversations.
for instance, i was talking with the members of animal kingdom, and asked the lead singer about the lyrics i picked up while listening them perform for the group a few minutes earlier... i felt stupid because i hadn't realized the name of the song, and only had caught a few lyrics... he wrote of mephistopheles.

by AMO inhi guys & girls.. though you can sit back down in your seats now, sorry but not a jw, never have been & never will be, am a totally happy with athiest life, lol.. started lurking here about a year ago, started dating a jw woman didn't i, i here the face palms, lol.
lucky for me i found this site while trying to find out more about the jw's very early on & knew exactly how this was prob going to end.
but i thought what the hell lets see where it goes.
